OMG how could she do that?
When I first heard that Dex's new teammates were named Calvin and Hobbs, I laughed. I was a huge fan of the cartoon when I was a kid so I thought it was really cute. But as I started to get to know these guys, I knew I wanted their story. I wanted them together as a couple and couldn't wait to see it happen. This book was everything I wanted it to be and more. I loved seeing Calvin finally get his man. I loved how sweet they were together. Every minute they were wrapped in each other's arms was perfect. I was a little surprised when they finally made it to bed but it was really hot and worked for them. As always, the team was an integral part of the story and there was plenty of action and laughs. But that ending shocked me. I can't believe it ended that way. I'm really glad I'm not reading this series as the books are released because I would be so upset right now. Thankfully I can jump right into the next book and don't have to wait.

Awww! Loved this story!
If anyone in the book world deserved their happy ever after, it's Ethan Hobbs and Calvin Summers. Those two men have such a strong bond spanning years. They've been through thick and thin, and nothing diminished their feelings. In this book we finally get to meet the Hobbs Brothers - Rafe, Sebastian and Ethan. In bits and pieces we see the family as it was and as it is now - the struggles they face everyday due to being who they are and due to personal issues and demons. Finally light is shown on what happened between Seb and Hudson and how unhappy both men are, the mystery of Rafe's attitude is solved, and I can only say: "Courage, Rafe, your family will always be there for you."I loved when Ethan talked to Calvin. It was amazing how drastic a change in him was when he felt safe at home. His constant daily struggle to simply function tore at my heart. Calvin, I think, is one of the bravest and most loyal men. He is the fierce protector. It takes a long time for them both to work through this but when they do, it's just as if they've always been together. They are so in tune. The team of course brings the humor and friendly banter to otherwise serious heart-wrenching love story. Dex and Sloane's moving day and Cael's coffee high were hilarious! This time trouble revolves around Calvin and the tough decisions he has to make in line of duty. In the end it is resolved somewhat peacefully but not without cost to others. This book ends on a serious cliffhanger but I loved it anyway. I highly recommend it!

Calvin & Hobbs!!
"I will always fight for you. Not because you can't fight for yourself, but because you're my best friend. If some ***hole has the balls to mess with you, he has to get through me first. I know you're bigger than me, and stronger, but that doesn't mean you're not allowed to lean on me, Ethan. That's what people do when they care about someone. Your fight becomes mine."Another great addition to the series! And holy crap what a cliffhanger!!It was great to see Calvin and Hobbs finally work through their relationship."He said my disabilities didn't define me. I define me.""That's right." Calvin placed Ethan's hand to his lips for a kiss. "You define you, Ethan. Not your meds, not your mutism, not anyone else. You."With the help of his wonderful partner, Hobbs is able to adapt to the change in their relationship and overcome some of his fears. Calvin is so patient and it's clear how much he adores Hobbs. I really love them together. As always, the comedy of this series is hilarious! There were several scenes that had me cracking up.I loved being able to see Dex through other people's POV's besides Sloane. It's just interesting and fun to see how they see Dex and what they think about him. It was also nice to see Dex and Sloane's relationship from the outside. It was great to see the other couples in the team and how their relationships are progressing. Ash and Cael are so cute and Dex and Sloane are amazing. They've come so far in their relationship and have become so in tune with one another. I seriously can't wait to get my hands on the next book since it goes back to Dex and Sloane being the main couple.(Originally reviewed 4/7/16)

3.5 rounded up.
I have such a major soft spot for this series! It's not the most sophisticated or well written of books, but the world and lives of these characters has wormed its way inside of me and I always have a good time reading about Destructive Delta.I like Calvin and Hobbs well enough, but I'm not super invested in them, so I wasn't sure how I'd feel about a whole book dedicated to their story. Luckily, I thought it was great! I really liked how it pushed the plot along, and it was wonderful getting into their heads. It was fun to read about a very different dynamic from the Sloane/Dex, Cael/Ash angstyness. Sure, there's conflict here, but Calvin and Hobbs are coming from such a different place, that it provided some nice variety.I also liked the sexual dynamics, and I definitely thought their connection was super hot.A little annoyed at Bautista showing up again. IDK why the author keeps trying to paint him in some sympathetic light. I mean yeah, the guy unknowingly dated a terrible person, but let's not forget that the whole reason he knows Calvin is because he was out cheating on his boyfriend who he "loved" so much. Just because that boyfriend turned out to be evil, doesn't excuse that, IMO...Quite the cliffhanger though! IDK how I'm supposed to wait until the next book comes out!

3.5 * Great to be back with the boys ;-)
Soooo good to be back with the boys of Destructive Delta. It's like dropping into my fave AU and once again getting the privilege of being part of their crazy lives. Feels like way too long since I've felt that with a series; maybe Ty and Zane was truly the last time. And much like then, at book 6, I'm not even a tiny bit bored - even though Catch A Tail focuses on Cal and Ethan and not my fave 'power couple' Dex and Sloane. Though thank heavens we get to see a lot of them as well as the others guys! I know I'm not in a minority feeling that way - though I did find it interesting to read some reviews that grumbled about the page space Dex and Sloane took up - but it's always been my impression that D&S are the main couple of the entire series and I for one wouldn't want it any other way. They have the strongest bond by far and were, quite frankly, made for each other. Those two gorgeous guys are the sole reason I'm addicted to The Thirds so I'm more than a little thrilled the next book focuses once more on them. Bring it on CC :>) I want more delicious heat and heartfelt lovin and raucous laughter and angst and mating and every good thing! Before the summer would be truly utterly fantastic but, ya know, if I've got a wait... Suffering in silence here :(Anyway, I digress. Calvin and Ethan. So good to see them together at last, they are such a cute couple and the sexy times were very good in this one. Didn't see Hobbs taking the toppy power role at all - nice surprise there! Loved reading about their childhood, how they fought the odds together and survived some pretty rough times. This book certainly captured the deeper emotions because of their often violent, somewhat heartbreaking shared history. But...and this is a big BUT. In my opinion there was zero angst - no will they / won't they - and the lack was so apparent the page turning quality suffered. The meandering plot didn't help matters as there was no, 'oh no, what now??' to become engrossed in. What's more, I never seemed to get a handle on Hobbs and I was left with more questions than answers. Where did this guys sexual history come from? In all honesty I expected him to be a virgin and he would have made a great one at that! How did he get over the barrier of his mutism with his sexual partners? Wouldn't sharing his body with an unknown have catapulted his anxiety? Especially considering he couldn't even handle some stranger coming to thanksgiving dinner. Together with some other niggles, he came over blurry and I thought his growth throughout could have been much improved. But these issues didn't break the book for me, they simply demoted my usual 'awesome' vote to just 'good'.I'll finish with this point, which kinda enhanced the meandering, unfocused feel of the entire book for me. That ending came so fast out of left field that if I hadn't been sitting I would've fallen over. It was so out of the blue it felt contrived. Though it was nothing that a good dose of foreshadowing couldn't have fixed. I can tell you right now, that if someone had been watching Dex or...I dunno, Sloane had noticed something off, I would have closed this book with an 'OMG, I did NOT see that happening and I should have!!!' Certainly not a 'HUH? No way. Dex has sneaked off to buy sugar laden gummy bears that's all folks, don't panic.' It was a missed opportunity to create more tension and that's a shame since Catch A Tail badly needed it.Anyhow, can't win them all and regardless of my gripes, I still think CC's the bomb and I'm waiting for Smoke and Shadows with baited breath.

Must read for fans.
I absolutely love this series, it just gets better, as does the authors writing. Despite this being Ethan and Cal's story there was such a lot going on. Ms Cochet included every conceivable emotion going! Ethan's condition is explained, and what he goes through every single day is heart rendering. It's obvious that Cal loves Ethan, and visa versa, and when the two finally get together I swear I sighed happily. Their relationship is built on a long friendship and it's obvious that their past and a fear of losing his friend has a bearing on why Ethan has been reluctant to commit. All the team are there, a big part of the story. Dex and Sloane are besotted with one another, it's really cute, I loved that Sloane is so possessive of Dex. As usual it's Dex who provides most of the humour, some of it a little over the top, but so what, that's Dex for you. Although one scene, with the kitties and the boxes, was initiated by Cael, I laughed out loud as I read it. I could just imagine it. Ash's there too (as grumpy as ever, but captivated by Cael), as well as Seb, Hudson (can't wait for their book), Rafe and all of the other likely candidates. As usual Ms Cochet moved the story along beautifully. Despite the humour and shenanigans, I was still aware of the story arc developing and progressing. The story is very character driven, the plot, as it was, taking a back row seat to what is going with the main protagonists. The Team carry on with their lives, but it's obvious something big is on the horizon, and that they need to be prepared. This was evident in the escalation of their training and what happened at the end; gah, how could you, Ms Cochet? So an satisfying story, Ethan and Cal are adorable together. There's updates on Seb and Hudson and on why Rafe is so angry most of the time - heart breaking that. Sparks reveals more on what happened to Dex's parents. Something which has been hinted at previously. There was such a lot going on, if you follow the series this episode is one you can't afford to miss. I've avoided major spoilers, because you really need to read it for yourself. That ending though... it was so cruel leaving it like that... I hate cliff hangers ...still I can't wait for the next book. Get writing Ms Cochet!

Totally love the banter, the sex, the story....oh and the cat and human thing...
I just love everything about this series. At first I wasn't convinced I'd be able to get my head around the shifting thing, but I totally love it now. The author writes with such skill that you hardly even realize it's not bizarre for humans and big cats to interact like it's the most normal thing in the world! Each character is a gem and none more so than Dex who always features as the shining star in every story. However, this one is mostly about Calvin and Ethan and their beautiful connection. This book is tender, angsty, sensitive, funny, deeply sexy and enthralling. there is always a good plot going on among the usual banter and antics of the team and this kept me engaged right the way through until the very end. Then I wanted to smash my kindle to pieces; hunt Charlie Cochet down and hurt her - a lot! Need the next book NOW!

4.5 stars
I loved that Calvin and Ethan finally got together properly and we saw the progression of their relationship, as well as a few other as which have been brewing for a while. The whole Web and Hudson thing for example. And what's going on with Dex disappearing? Now I want to go read book 7 like, right now.

Awesome
Damn it, now I'm gonna have to wait with baited breath for the next one, not that I wouldn't be anyway. Fantastic read as always. Though Dex & Sloane will always be my favourites I have enjoyed reading about the other couples, both Cael & Ash and now Calvin & Ethan, Charlie has never let me down, with just the right amount of drama & humour to make me unable to stop reading until the last page. Charlie Cochet is an awesome writer I highly recommend any and all of her books. (Hopefully their will be a book for Tony in the future, he deserves to be happy with all the crap he has to put up with).
