Perkin Chef Knife Set (7 Pieces, Black)

This is not Doma steel. Knives were rarely used, quickly blunted. The box is cheap, made of plaster, painted.

Knife stand arrived old damages and dirty.

Ganz ehrlich,ich trage immer mindestens ein Messer im ganzen Haus mit mir herum (fidibumm),damit ich egal wo ich bin das Messer bewundern kann. Meine Frau fragt schon gar nicht mehr wo ich bin weil sie weiß dass ich in der Küche mit offenem Mund vor der magnetischen Messerleiste stehe.(;-)

Great knife set that does what it says on the box, certainly not cheap but well worth the money

I did a TON of research and landed on this brand. Got them in and here's what I noticed.They are sharp, no need to worry about that.They look nice, certainly different than your same old knifesThe etching is 'okay', honestly, I was hoping they'd look a bit more expensive. They are kind of on the cheaper looking side (referring to the etching only)They are pretty balancedThey seem to be good qualityThe handles are niceHOWEVER...the block is disappointing. First thing I noticed on mine was the original wood color on the top line of where the two pieces come together. It looks like it wasn't painted on all sides which would be fine assuming the pieces line up properly to not see it.The holes that are cut for the knives to side into are uneven. When all the knives are in, they lean in different directions and the knife handles don't look even. Maybe I'm too picky, I'll admit, I'm kind of a perfectionist, however if I'm going to drop this kind of money on a few knives I want it to be a show piece in the kitchen, and I hate that I can clearly notice the knife handles uneven in the block.My block came in black. The paint they use could be better. Its kind of cheap looking paint, certainly could use another coat, and they use a matte finish. The black is very dry and flat looking. Because of all these painting issues I ended up repainting the block myself and using a semi-gloss black. It looks much better than what came originally.Hope this review helps you understand what you're likely going to get.
