Good, but probably not $20-good...
Here's what I liked about the Yoyito: it casts wonderfully. You get a very satisfyingly long cast with only a little practice. I don't know how much line is wound on mine, but if anything, it might be too much line. I say that because it is prone to unwinding when you don't want it to- in my case, it got wrapped around my hand and the weight I had on the end of the line swung back and walloped me in the middle of my forehead. Ouch. And there is also the risk of the line getting wound off the back of the reel and onto your hand. This could be a dangerous situation with a robust fish on the line. But these issues are easily enough solved by just cutting some of the line off. Better too much than too little! I don't count any of this as a strike against the Yoyito. With the right amount of line on the reel -which will, no doubt, vary from person to person- the casting and retrieving is a real pleasure. Here's what I didn't like: there appears to be some oversight in quality control. I see several small pits on the surface of the reel, some of which are and would surely remain only cosmetic; some of these pits (voids from the 3D printing process?) are very close to the flared edge of the reel- so close that I cannot imagine that they would not, sooner or later (and probably sooner!), give way completely, leaving a rough edge in a most inopportune place (see pic). And by the way, I'm not talking about the thru-holes that are built into the edge of the reel- those are quite clever, how they allow you to cast the line and hang the reel on a tree limb or some such... But while I'm on that topic, I need to mention that the plastic near the thru-hole has been sanded down really close and quite coarsely- again, I presume this to be a quality-control oversight. As much as I like the compactness and ease-of-use of this hand reel, I would have a hard time recommending it at the going price of $20, when you can get similar (although admittedly larger) hand reels for as little as $5. If you are going absolutely minimalist and have to be conscientious about every last ounce of weight you're carrying, the comparatively high cost of this reel might (*MIGHT*) be justified. Otherwise... save a few bucks and get one of the run-of-the-mill hand reels out there; spend the $$$ you saved on tackle and bait.
