It bothers me that camera's owners manuals become less detailed, explain less and less how to use the functions of your camera, are written for English speakers by non-English speakers (some of the instructions cause you to shake your head and you can't even begin to guess what in heck they were talking about) and now you usually get a "quick start" guide with the rest of the owners manual on a CD, and again, it's usually not as complete as you'd like it to be.Get yourself a Magic Lantern guide for your specific model camera! It will tell you step-by-step in plain language what the controls of your camera do, and how to use them. If you've ever been frustrated because you looked at a button on your camera and said: "What's that, and what's it do?" then the Magic Lantern guides are what you need! I have them for each model of camera I own.Even if the owners manual is fairly clear, the Magic Lantern guides usually expand on them and take the instructions even further.If you're frustrated because you don't know how to use all of the bells and whistles on your new camera and the owner's manual isn't that much help then get yourself a guide for your specific model camera and start enjoying it as never before!

As I bought a used camera with no book this book has been more than helpful. I am using it to learn more each time I use my camera I also purchased the field guide to go with it. I plan to buy a second one of these books to give to my granddaughter who will need it as she is planning to use my camera for class. I will keep mine and get another camera the book is really helpful.

Wow... Can't say enough about this book! I had used the Nikon manual (downloaded and printed), and thought I had a decent grasp on the operation of my camera, but this Magic guide went into the "why's" as well as "how's". It's an invaluable resource. When I get my next camera, I hope there will be a Magic Lantern Guide for it!

This book is Great help to me a new comer to DSLR . I bought a Nikon d3000 second hand ad did not have a Manuel. This is so much more than a manul.

Great book! Just starting with photography and this book helped me understand my camera, a lot of detail and tips for taking great pictures!

A good, comprehensive guide but not for a novice unless in possession of a Phd. Very technical and, if you have used an SLR or DSLR before you may well be able to get to grips. I am doing a night school course on photography and am now beginning to find the book useful.

Have to refer to this fairly often and it is very informative. Far better than going onlineas far as I am concerned anyway.

Handy little book very interesting
