Good value
This is brown rice, what is there to really say? It's easy to rinse before use. I've never really paid attention to grain length since I'm not trying to write my name on it at a mall kiosk. I have a rice cooker, so I don't pay attention to the cook time, but I think in general, brown rice might take a little longer than white rice. Once cooked, it has a nice, soft, light sticky texture with homey, aromatic flavor. It did take maybe 3 weeks to arrive though. It's a good value and I planned ahead.

5 stars for health and value
If you are managing your Glycemic Index (GI) or tracking your glucose spikes with a CGM, this brown rice is a fantastic pantry staple—specifically because of how well it handles "retrogradation." Many budget brown rices turn into a mushy porridge when cooked, but this variety maintains a distinct, firm structure. This is crucial for health-conscious cooks because grain integrity is directly linked to digestion speed. The firmer the grain, the slower the gastric emptying, and the lower the insulin spike. My "Longevity" Preparation Method: I use this rice specifically for the "cooling hack" to increase resistant starch. I cook a large batch with a teaspoon of coconut oil, let it cool in the fridge for 24 hours, and then reheat it throughout the week. Texture: Even after reheating (I use the steam function on my rice cooker), these grains don't disintegrate. They stay separate and chewy, which is exactly what you want for lower GI impact. Flavor: It has a mild, nutty profile that pairs well with healthy fats (like olive oil or avocado) without overpowering them. Value: Compared to premium health-store brands, the quality control here is surprisingly high. I found very few broken kernels or husks in the bag. The Verdict: If you are just boiling rice to eat immediately, this is tasty. But if you are using food science techniques (like cooling and reheating) to turn your carbs into functional prebiotic food, this rice is the perfect substrate. Highly recommended for meal preppers.

Great value on a great quality rice from Amazon.
Amazons Long Grain Brown rice (LGBR) is a good deal in the 5 lb bags. I can't tell any difference in my local grocers brown rice and Amazons. Grains appear exactly the same, this (LGBR) offers a great option to white rice which is more refined and offers less nutrients, protein and fibers. The more refined white rice isn't better tasting or have a better texture nor is it better for you. White rice is brown rice prior to processing. I always order brown rice at restaurants and serve brown rice at the house, it's a no brainer. LGBR cooks the same as white rice, 1 part rice and two parts water...ez peezee.

It's rice
It's rice. Do you cook rice? Do you like getting enough soluble fiber? Do you hate paying too much for a staple food and like having it delivered to you? Then this is the brown rice for you. Rice lovers, rejoice - your time has truly arrived.

Great for fried rice recipes
Good brown rice and the price can't be beat. I like it and will buy more in the future. I believe it will hold up great in fried rice recipes. And brown rice is good for our health.

My dogs think I'm a 5-star chef now
Bought this for the dogs, not for us. Just want to be clear about that upfront—this is fancy canine cuisine we're talking about here. Mixed some of this brown rice into their kibble, and suddenly I'm getting looks like I've been holding out on them their whole lives. Tails wagging at maximum velocity. The kind of enthusiasm usually reserved for when I grab the leash or drop cheese on the floor. The rice itself? It's rice. It cooks. It's brown. It does exactly what rice is supposed to do, which apparently is make me "Parent of the Year" in dog world. Is it weird that I'm weirdly proud when they lick their bowls clean now? Maybe. Do I sometimes taste-test it to make sure it's up to their standards? I plead the fifth. But honestly, it's perfectly fine rice that happens to cost less than the boutique "dog-specific" stuff, so everyone wins. My dogs give it 11/10. I give it a solid "yeah, it's rice" out of 10. Would buy again because their happiness is worth the 30 seconds it takes to scoop some into their bowls.

Bugs and Worms found Inside Unopen Bag
Unfortunately I am writing a disturbing review. I do not ever write reviews but I felt I had to share my findings. When I went to go use my bag of brown rice I was concerned when I noticed webs while going to close the bag. I began looking closer and was disturbed to find LIVE MOVING worms. Yes worms, plural there were 3 I could see 2 in the deep middle of the rice and one at the top of the opening surrounding the webs. While I used the other bag since it came with two, the other bag was fine but I have since thrown both out and unfortunately can’t get a refund but I wanted to share as a caution to everyone who is looking for brown rice, while I know this can happen with any item like this I have never experienced this issue in the past.
