It's fine
Nice, cheap, and does the job. However, mold does tend to grow on the undersides around the suction cups if they are wet for too long, which is kind of dumb. But they're easy to clean for the most part and easily replaceable.

Works
Work well. Easy to use. Only sorry I had to resort to buying off Amazon. But it's my first purchase since January (the election). And I won't be buying again unless I am desperate. Going out in the world to shop and talk to real live humans and support local business. No Amazon. No Target. For as long as necessary.

The best so far in my opinion...
This is the best reusable and detachable hair catcher for a shower that I've used so far. Since my shower isn't a stall, which is all to most of a flat surface but a tub that has a slight curve to it, this drain protector catches all or at least most of the hair. Little to no hair has gone underneath this drain protector and the ease to even pick up the hair has been better than others. I'm still looking for the perfect one, but so far this isn't bad and I will keep going to this one rather than the others.

Great For Catching Hair
Excellent and easy way to stop hair from going down the drain. I think this is a great preventative of clogged drains. My wife and daughter always have hair in this hair catcher, unfortunately I'm the one that has to empty it BUT it's better than having to call a plumber to unlock your drain!

Perfectly Functional for the Price
I have thick, mid-length, curly hair that clogs all pipes and ruins all vacuums.I wanted to buy a new drain when I moved into my new apartment to catch hair instead of letting it go straight into the pipe, but quickly discovered that I have a really old tub and traditional drains don't work. (There's a hook in the middle of the drain that you have to plug into. It's weird. I don't know much about drains.) Nonetheless, I couldn't buy a new drain, or anything that goes INTO the drain, so I was going to have to get a cover.I shopped around before getting this one. I didn't want to have to return anything, didn't want it to be an eyesore, and wanted it to work. I was tired of buying things for the apartment, didn't want to take specific measurements on my drain, how close it was to the tub, etc. This seemed like the safest bet. And it works! It's clear, not white, so I feel like it's less noticeable. It's not invisible by any means, but I don't catch sight of it out of the corner of my eye and wonder what fell into my tub.I read a couple reviews about stepping on it, but I've never had a problem. It is wider than the drain, but not by that much. Unless you already have problems stepping on your drain or really close, you shouldn't have a problem. There are two layers to this. To the best of my knowledge, and how I use it, you are supposed to use both at the same time, and they just go right on top of each other, and the whole thing goes over the drain. It doesn't really STICK to the floor of the tub the way a suction cup holder would stick to a window. There's some stick to it, but not much. That being said, my hair hasn't been getting under it and slipping into the drain. It's very flexible. I didn't measure anything before getting this, but my drain looks pretty average. Because it's so flexible I'd imagine it fits most reasonable drain sizes.I've been using this for about 2 months now. Every week or so I need to pick it up and get some hair out from between the layers and from around the edges. I picked it up yesterday and noticed it was getting a little dingy, so next time I clean my bathroom, I'll be sure to drop it into a little bleach solution and get it nice and clean again.Again, for reference, I have thick curly hair that has clogged many tubs! It's just me using this shower. In an ideal world, I would have been able to get a nice metal drain that was attractive and didn't need any special cleaning other than cleaning your shower like normal. But if you have a tub like mine and that isn't an option, this is perfect alternative that is cheap, functional, and low-maintenance.

Suction cups too hard
I had these from years ago and they were great. But I just ordered some and the suction cups will not stay down. I followed directions of making sure there was water under them, but they kept popping up. The older design was softer and pressed down much easier, and stayed put. With these, after I keep them pressed down the parts between suction cups have gaps and let hair through. Disappointed they changed what really worked.

Not perfect, but the best drain protection I've been able to find
I bought this identical-looking drain protector from Bed, Bath, and Beyond years ago. (It may be the same manufacturer as this one from Amazon, but I can't confirm.) My pop-up drain is quite large, and this protector is the only one I've found that's large enough to accommodate it. I clean the protector whenever I scrub the tub, and I also put it in the washer every couple of weeks. Despite this, it still became horribly discolored very quickly. I wanted a fresher-looking protector and found this one on Amazon. At a price of $6 for two, it's not expensive to replace them as they discolor. Some problems with this cover are, I believe, unique to my tub design, and some I believe everyone will experience. I can't pull up the pop-up all the way because the interior dome of the protector is not large enough. As a result, water does not drain as fast as it could, and soap tends to accumulate and gunk up the openings. Now, you may wonder why I don't just buy a larger protector, but my drain is positioned very closer to the edge of the tub, and a protector that was any larger would not be able to be placed flat on the tab.The more universal problem, aside from the discoloration already mentioned, is that it's really not possible to get this protector completely flat to the surface of the tub, so hair can slip underneath between the suction cups, and I've also seen strands of my hair slide right through the opening of the dome. I do think that the protector traps significantly more than hair than not, but I think that's due in part to the fact that I have long hair. I can see how shorter hair would be more difficult to trap.
