Ublox NEO-7M Flight Controller GPS Module Built-in Data Memory

The Ublox GPS receiver works very well, and can be easily configured using the Ublox u-center free software.I ran into a problem with the 7M, and had to buy the NEO-6M module for my application. The issue is that the 7M does not store its configuration data to the external eeprom. Instead, the 7M uses the little rechargeble on board battery to backup the configuration. The battery only lasts a few days, so the configuration then reverts to default. The 6M does store configuration data to the on board eeprom, which is permanent.I'm using this on a boat, and the power is off for months at a time. If your application is constantly powered, or the default settings are fine, or you don't mind changing the configuration every time you use it, then the 7M is ok.This is a hobby level module, you need to know all about signal levels and serial ports to use it.
