I am 90% thrilled with these replacement refills, the construction is far better and much tougher than the originals and the feathers are also higher quality. My only complaint is the strings that they come with, while it is nice to have a new string for each refill they are elastic and the reaction of the toy from the wand input is much slower than the solid strings on the original and they get worse the longer you play with them, easy enough fix, tie on the solid string I have from the original wand and its party time. They showed up super quick, very happy with product and seller, I will be reordering many times if the quality stays this good. My cats are simply bonkers for this toy, they don't even get as excited about food or treats as they do about these things, I can't even open the door to the room where we keep them without getting pestered for 5 minutes if I don't come out with the toy. Great stuff !!!

Very pretty but they don't work as well as the authentic replacements for Da Bird. My cats like the noise and the fastness of Da Bird.

I bought these for the Da Bird as a replacement, particularly since it has the peacock feather on it. I didn't use the string that came with the refill. The feather quality is high and my cat likes to catch these. The only drawback is that the joint at the tip doesn't spin very easily so the feather doesn't rotate as well as it could be. The connection going into the hinge/joint also appeared to be a little bent.

I ave 2 Beautiful Maine Coon kittens. We had "other feathers" and they really liked them, but were uninterested after a few minutes. After buying these Guinea Fowl w/ Peacock feathers, they both went crazy for them!! I think it is because you can manipulate these feathers in the air or across the floor and it really hones in to their "natural instincts" for hunting.I can't wait to try other products from Pets Can Play. But, be sure your kitties don't see where you hide them, because our 2 drive us bonkers until we distract them and put them in a safe place!!I know other negative reviews have commented on the sharp edges when they chew or break a quill, well that's when you take the "well used" TOY away from your baby and replace it!! Surely people don't just let a kitten or cat chew on these like a dog bone!! It's an interactive toy, to be supervised at all times..And it's family time after dinner every evening and What a Blast We Have--Never Gets Old!!

Doesn't have the same flight/excite capability as the original da-bird. Kitty not at all impressed OR interested.....

Overall our cats love these, and the price is great. The only downsides are that the feathers aren't always positioned to get the characteristic 'flapping wings' noise you get with the original toy, and the replacement strings are elastic instead of regular string. Still- really can't beat the price.

The feathers are arranged so that the toy spins through the air and it makes my cat go crazy. There's also a slight noise caused by this that sounds faintly like a bird flapping its wings. The feathers are strong and sturdy. I've only been playing with it for one day but none of the feathers have broken off, which is more than can be said about many of the other toys I have bought. I have 4 cats, 2 who play very rough, so toys have a tendency to die young, which is why I bought this 6 pack of toys. I honestly think I could have just bought one at this point and not needed another for a month. It's more expensive than some of the other refills I've seen, but if you're willing to pay the extra bit this is, I think it's worth it.

This refill is actually made for the Bird Catcher or Bird Catcher Pro. It is not made for Da Bird. However, you can remove the elastic cord and attach the metal clip to the feather top, then attach the toy to Da Bird as usual. I chose to order the Bird Catcher Pro and hold off on using these attachments for now.
