Sams Teach Yourself Gmail in 10 Minutes (Sams Teach Yourself -- Minutes)

The primary reason for my purchase of this book was to understand more about the labels used within gmail (instead of folders) for organizing my contacts and their subsequent messages.I realized that I have been using Microsoft products for too long and am used to the folder method of organizing my information. It is second nature to me and I have decided to stick with that. I will handle all of my messages through Outlook so it is a moot point for me.However, if there are others out there that are NOT entrenched with the folder method of organization, then it would benefit you to get this book since it makes it easier to understand how to set up the labels and use colors and select indicators to organize your information.I ordered the Kindle version to use with my PC Kindle app so that I could access the information right away. That was really helpful because I was also teaching my sister what I learned since we both planned to use this information about labels.

At least for this user, the 10 minute time is -- ahem -- optimistic. Having said that, it is still a very helpful tool. I was needing perhaps something a bit more basic as I'm transitioning to gmail and lacking in familiarity with it's basic functions, layout, etc.

a well written book that eases the reader into the complexities of G-mail. If you were born and raised with Windows Explorer, this book eases you out of that routine and into an exciting experience with G-mail

A necessary evil because it seems to be the only book on the market explaining Gmail, but the typeset is very blurry and difficult to discern.

Lots of just the information I was looking for. Except it seems that Gmail has been upgraded and changed since this volume was printed. For instance, the pictures of the screens in the book aren't the same as the screen I am looking at on my monitor. Somewhat distracting.

Book seemed to help until we realized that it is out of date! Kind of pointless to read a book that is out of date! You think?

The layout and explanations are very good and I am already gaining lots more info on the system.My only complaint is the diagrams not printed as clearly as they might be and should be in bolder print.Otherwise it was worth the reasonable price charged and I am glad I purchased it.

Hard to follow. It covers a lot of unnecessary topics for ordinary users. I suppose it is hard to stretch a simple topic into book-length.

Small print and inadequate screen shots make this book difficult to read. It's a pity because Gmail is the way forward if you want to keep the same email address when you change ISP so the first publisher to create a decent manual could do very well indeed.

The book is OK and quite well presented. However, it did not tell me a lot that I hadn't already discovered by trial and error. If you get the book before signing up for g mail it is worth while

Main disappointment is that it has nothing to say about Circles otherwise generally quite helpful for a complete elderly beginner
