A Weaker Second Album But Still Good
I was a little disappointed in the selection from the original series, I think the songs from Amok Time are better than the original series songs on this album. The album, however, does not disappoint once it gets to the DS9, VOY, and TNG tracks. They are either pulse pounding, retro during the Captain Proton songs and even beautiful when it is neither of the previous two. I also didn't care for the lounge mix version of the original series theme, it just didn't sound that good, but, you have to take that with a pinch of salt. If you like lounge music, you may enjoy it more than I did. However, I really loved that Visitor's version of the song "Fever" was thrown in as a "bonus track" according to the CD slipcase. She really shows her pipes and can really sing. I couldn't help but smile just thinking about the DS9 episode "His Way" while I was listening. Overall, this is a good buy, just not as good as the first record.

Great Music from the World of Star Trek
It recaps all the great music from the Star Trek series, from TOS to Voyager and even includes one of real favorites, the lounge version of the Original theme. I first noticed it in the episode "Court Martial" when Capt. Kirk met with his old flame, the lawyer in the lounge on the Space Station. In the background they were playing the original theme in "lounge" style with a muted horn, brushes, etc. It's great! I was so glad to find an album that included that number along with all the other great themes used through-out the series.

if you wait long enough...
Been trying to find the cut for " In Chapel" for years. Never imagined in my wildest dreams it would ever be realeased in original form. Now, if I could just get my hands on " The Sons of Katie Elder" and "Von Ryan's Express" I could die a happy man.

The best of Star Trek Volume 2
I you have volume 1 you have to have volume 2. That was my thinking when I bought it and I beleave it after buying it. If your a Star Trek fan, you'll love this CD.
