Plenty bright with great tailgate illumination! left side screw seems a little short for install and is kind of a pain…maybe just my vehicle

Amazing
The media could not be loaded. Looks and works GREAT! Definitely recommend it. Installed it on wifes Jeep JL. I did end up hard wiring and adding a quick disconnect for when the top comes off.

This part was relatively easy to install. I went for a permanent mounting solution using a 12v outlet adapter harness with dedicated fuse. Easy enough to cut off the 12v plug and wire it in, but getting the panel loose on the Jeep is a bit of an exercise.Wiring can be routed in the same chase as the defrost. Though it's a bit of a tight fit, it does work. On my sky one touch I routed through the top too which made for a clean install.The design really should eliminate or make selectable the LED button illumination as it is a parasitic drain on the battery. I wired in a secondary control switch discretely located inside of the Jeep to address this, but it's one extra thing that wouldn't have to be there if the design were improved.

Two months in...
Two months in and an LED is already blown out on the light strip. This is extremely disappointing as I took the time and effort to route the cable through the existing channels on the Jeep, which was a pain in itself, to keep it looking OEM as possible. I even added rubber weather stripping around the cover trim to make it factory like the stock piece it was replacing. Super frustrated with the quality on this one.UPDATE******Not sure what happened but I pulled the battery terminal and plugged it back in and the supposedly blown LED came back on with the rest of the LEDs in the strip. Changing my review to 4 stars

Easy installation
Installation was straight forward and simple. Work as nice as it looks.

Easy not so easy install
Screws are very hard to seat, also they are hex screws so you need a special tool to get those in. Wish there was an option for a solid amber mode and not just flashing. Also, worried about battery drainage as the trunk cig plug is constantly powered. I unplugged mine and set in a place out of the way so I don't have to risk a dead battery but it's close if I were to need it
