I used to used the sephora hair elastics until they were discontinued and have been searching for a replacement. I have pretty thick hair and these were too thin and kept slipping out of my hair. They stretched out pretty easily and did not hold very well. I will continue searching.

I purchased these after reading a recommendation on the NYT wirecutter. The first time I opened the package and removed the first elastic, it broke in two, at the seam. This was within 10 seconds, literally, of removing it from the cardboard packaging, with minimal stretching. Perhaps this was a one-off (a second elastic from the package did last long enough to wear for several hours) but when the price per elastic is this high, it is definitely not worth it IMO. The second elastic which I was able to use was just meh for my fine, slippery hair; there was too much stretch and not enough hold for me.

I have used Blax 2mm elastics before, but I purchased them from a beauty supply shop. They have lasted me years! However, the ones I bought from Amazon lose their elasticity and stretch out quickly. I only use them to tie off braids so I don't use them to tie off tight pony tails or whatnot. I think i'll continue to purchase them from my local beauty supply store.

Update: I have been using these exclusively for about 15 months now. The durability is amazing. They work wonderfully. These are so much better than grocery store ponytailers. Great product.----- Original Review -----These are fairly expensive as ponytailers go, but they are well worth it. These things are so much better than anything Goodie or Scunci ever made. They work better and they last much, much longer. These things look delicate; I was sure I was going to break them on the first use. But they are remarkably strong and durable. These things are well-worth the extra cost.

I bought these for my toddler, because she is constantly pulling the little cloth hair things out of her hair. I figured these would be small/grippy enough where she couldn't. But they also said they won't snag. Every time tried to put them in, they would be too loose, and she could just pull it out. But, it also pulled out 4-6 hairs every time. She doesn't have a huge amount of hair to begin with. I'll probably keep these in case I need them for pigtails or something, but I will not be using them as I intended to.

The 6mm worked well better with my hair. I felt these were too fragile and lost its elasticity too quickly.

I bought both the 2MM and 4MM elastics, and the 4MM seem to hold hair better especially if you have thicker hair, and want to style your hair in a higher ponytail.They may be fine if you have thinner hair or wear your ponytail at the nape of your neck, or if you use them for small braids.

I was looking for very small hair ties, and these do meet that mark. However, they are very slippery and not secure. I wish they were better at hold hair still!

Ich hatte mir (als Mann) diese für meine etwas nervige Zwischen- Übergangslänge zugelegt. Sie waren für meine, damals etwas kürzeren Haare optimal und ich konnte meine Haare damit aus dem Gesicht halten. Sie sind klein und sehr dünn aber sehr elastisch und lassen sich ohne "ziepen" aus den Haaren entfernen und sind zudem sehr belastbar ! Einziges Manko ist hier wie bereits erwähnt, der zu hohe Preis.

Mein Man benutzt diese Gummis für seinen Bart. Er ist begeistert, weil diese nicht die Form verlieren und auch nicht reißen.Kann ich empfehlen.

These elastic bands are amazing! Hold my hair well, but glide off so easily. Love them!
