Good Resource for Digital Marketers Who Want to Go Beyond Basics
This book is a good resource for digital marketers who want to go beyond basic web analytics concepts and dig deeper into the math behind analytics and conversion optimization. It introduces the reader to cornerstone concepts in analytics like calculating true conversion rate, calculating ROI, dealing with data sampling, importing cost data into Google Analytics, understanding statistical significance, setting up call tracking and more. My favorite thing about the book is that it is written in plain language and has large text. One reviewer commented on the large text but I actually find it to be a bonus.I teach Digital Marketing and Google Analytics to adult learners in NYC and I support the use of plain language in all documents. More and more marketers and business owners want to learn web analytics. The writing style is simple and clear and that's a good thing. Jargon and tiny print are obstacles for learning. The author shares his views on conversion rate optimization. These are the views of one web analytics expert based on his experiences. I find them to be thought-provoking and educational. They stimulate critical thinking. If you like learning from practitioners who are working in the industry and have a strong point of view you may enjoy this book. If you want to learn about the math and stats behind web analytics in a guide with little jargon and plain language, take a second look and judge for yourself. Full disclosure: I reached out to the author on his blog and sought counsel from him for a client. He is very knowledgeable. I bought the book because I wanted to get his take on these topics.

Himanshu teaches you the important must-know concepts in digital marketing in a way that's digestible!
Himanshu Sharma is an awesome teacher, extremely insightful, but done in a way where it's systematic and builds your knowledge from the ground up. When I read his writing it's almost as if a close friend was explaining something complicated to you, but didn't want to insult your intelligence so he starts from the very beginning. All in all, a great addition to any aspiring digital marketer to read, and read again. His concepts are important and will most likely still be relevant for years to come. Google analytics is not going anywhere soon people. Read his blog and support this awesome man!

Little money, very well-spent
I'm a marketing science and analytics consultant and bought this book to broaden and deepen my knowledge about this aspect of marketing. This is especially important when I work with SMEs. I found the book excellent and very useful. It is written in plain language so that even those with limited stats/math background will not struggle with the technical parts.

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.
With 'Maths and Stats' in the title, there was more of an expectation that there would be a bit more academic treatment of the material. This is designed for ... people with undergraduate-level math and statistics knowledge. There's more complexity missing here in terms of sample size calculations and estimates (which the author totally glosses over). It's heavy on 'how-to' material in GA and Excel. Really a very rudimentary book not worthwhile for the more serious data scientist looking for deeper discussion on the statistics of A/B testing and conversion optimization. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.

Recycled content, no use.
Big disappointment, delivered almost no value. Some sections are a page and in certain areas the font size is huge in order to make the material look more bulky. The section on attribution models literally just lists the attribution models available in GA.There are multiple sections talking about how conversion rate is a sub optimal metric and then another on how you should be using conversion rate driven marketing campaigns. As others have said this is recycled, poorly organised content and definitely not worth the money.

Fantastic, insightful book
I really love this book!! I read Himanshu's blog on a regular basis so I already knew that his book would be really insightful and written in a way that I would understand, and I was right! The tips and tricks about statistics and web analytics in this book are exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to know about the specific statistics I would need to use in my analytics career and day-to-day ways to improve conversions and use data more effectively. I didn't want to have to read and get bogged down with the more general statistics books that are on the market. This book delivers all those things and more! Really, really good.

This is a very good book because it is so practical
This is a very good book because it is so practical. The only criticism I would say is that the images are a very poor quality. This is more of an annoyance rather than a hindrance.

A good introduction to more complex statistical concepts for experienced online marketers
Overall this book’s content is rich in ideas and concepts for anyone wanting to brush up their web analytical should read. It’s pretty clear Mr. Sharma is a great consultant and very competent in his field.Unfortunately the product is in need of polishing: typos, low-res screenshots, abuse of line spacing and chapter changes hinder the reading experience. I also didn’t like the fact that the writer was constantly switching from academic theory to explanations how to implement and use Google Analytics features. Am I reading a science book or a GA instruction manual? My conclusion: read this book if you have a few years of experience in online marketing and are looking for an introduction to more complex statistical concepts. I wouldn’t recommend it for beginners.
