perfect portion for lunch
This is the perfect size rice cooker when packing lunches for 2 people. AND you can make "steamed eggs" in here, too! The ratio for the best silky, steamed eggs is 2 cups of water to 4 eggs. If you like firmer eggs, use a little less water, like 1.5 cups of water to 4 eggs.

I really liked this but it stopped working in only 3 months
I really like the size of this rice cooking. It does not take much space on the counter top and it can make the smallest amount of rice when we just want one bowl. It is easy to use and clean. I have used this for only 3 months, 3 times per week at most. The rice cooker looks as good as new but It is now broken. I'm not sure what caused it. It will not turn on anymore. I really want to like this and hope it can last longer. I'm going through warranty to get it replacement and hopefully the new one will work longer.Update!I got the replaced rice cooker and it is so much better. When I cook the rice, there's no bubble coming out from the top steam hole. I guess the last one I had was really an defected item. I have been using the new rice cooker for a few months now. It is working great with no issue. Changed my rating back to 5 star. Great customer service as well!

One of the best purchases I ever made
One of the best purchases I ever made. I was tired of cleaning the regular size for rice that I would need to save over for later, and it would be slightly stale even if you added a splash of water and microwaved. I love rice and eat it almost at every meal, so it's completely different to have fresh rice every day. It takes a shorter amount of time to cook than the bigger ones, somewhere between 20 and 30 minutes. I also use the steam to steam my face once in awhile, to clear out my pores. You can just steam water with it right there in your bathroom. I've never added essential oil or anything other than water, since I still use it to cook, but I imagine you can. I was a little dubious at first because of the price, however, once you realize that the switch from "cook" to "keep warm" triggers during the cooking process, you're good. You hear the thing click, and you know you have about 5 minutes until the rice is good. You can judge it easily by seeing if it's still steaming. (If steaming ceases its finished) If you leave it on keep warm for too long the rice can burn, I think mine started to brown a half hour after it stopped steaming, so you have to unplug it when you want it to stop cooking. Ultimately, the best thing for a soloist.12/2019 edit: I still have the guy but I have noticed that I can't leave the lid to soak as water gets inside. It somehow ended up okay but I fear what the lid looks like inside. Eventually I will replace this unit but not yet I'm still brave (frugal). Its dried out now now and I'm very careful about washing it- not soaking- and it hasn't gotten liquid inside again. If you can't hear it splashing around in there it's probably fine. I have my suspicions on where the water gets in but its moot. I'm alive and this guy still cooks rice. In fact, I've made some really delicious ramen in this and other soups and beans too. One of my favorites is frozen potstickers in vegetable broth from gel concentrate and a couple leaves of hand torn napa cabbage. Once that gets heated up and the leaves get wiltyish, it's ready. It's a perfect light soup to end the day with or curb midnight snacking. (You can also make this in a mug with one dumpling, folks, it's such a simple snack)( I've got some recipes for cake in a mug too) (Ultimately what I'm saying is this guy is a pretty cool dude and will heat up/cook broths and oatmeal and bean consistency dishes and I only wish I had a spare pot so I could use it more often)

Good product
Works well for now. I hope it continues as long as our old one that died off did.So far I think it's good and like it.

Worked well until it broke after the 5th use. Does not work after proper care and use.
The product itself works very well. The cup supplied along with the rice cooker is properly sized for cooking rice with this appliance. The top side of the rice comes out a little drier due to the open air vent at the top but it's not too big of a deal considering that the rice cooker itself is pretty cheap.Unfortunately after its fifth use, the rice cooker stopped working for me. I unplugged the rice cooker after every use and never kinked or folded its power cable. I never tried using it for any other purpose than for rice and never used it more than once in a 24 hour period. I never moved it from its spot so I can say it didn't receive and sort of odd impact or drop. Now, the lights don't turn on and it doesn't heat up. I know it only activates based on weight so I tried washing rice and cooking it and the lights still didn't work. Some might say, "You get what you pay for," but the fact that it doesn't even turn on after proper care and light use means that the value of the product should equal the cost of the materials because now I have a hunk of plastic and cheap metals that doesn't cook or heat anything.I try not to write any reviews when I don't need to but the fact that I took such good care of it and it still broke on its own was quite disappointing. Review on this product appeared to be great but at the end of the day, your mileage may vary.

Makes really good rice
I bought this small rice cooker and another similarly priced model. This one cooks really good rice. I’m on the vertical diet so fresh rice is something I eat a lot of. This rice cooker leaks a little water from the top of cooking 2 or more cups of rice at once. A quick wipe with a sponge or paper towel takes care of the leakage. This doesn’t happen when cooking one cup or dry rice at a time which is what I do many times a day. It cooks fast and the rice is never burnt. Even the warm function on this model doesn’t seem to burn the rice. The other model I purchased seems sturdier however it always seems to burn the rice. So this one wins in taste. This unit is very small, storage is super easy. I’ve actually purchased 2 of these, one for work and one for home. I haven’t had it long enough to see how long it will last but I’ll just buy another one if it breaks. These electronics don’t last forever unfortunately. The Japanese spend hundreds of dollars for rice cookers that cook really good tasting rice. Save your money and buy this model if you cook mainly for yourself. It’s super easy for my just to put a cup or a cup and a half or rice in, double the water, and push start. The rice is ready in about 20 minutes. The unit is very easy to clean. A quick wipe down is all that’s required.
