Squeezo Strainer
The Squeezo Strainer does what it is designed to do and is a joy to use. When used for the first time, it allowed me to process over 30 pounds of tomatoes in about 10 minutes. A significant time saver for the kitchen. Easy to clean too!Be careful to read the instructions and take the time to properly set the strainers. It can be a little tricky to get them seated correctly. You will know when they are right by the sound when you turn the hand crank. You will not hear any metal on metal sounds. The only improvement I would like to see is for the strainers to be available in Stainless Steel.

I love this product!! I have used it for two seasons now and I have no idea how I made spaghetti or applesauce before I got this gadget. A few "pains": sometimes if the screen gets blocked the screen will splatter, you MUST make sure your screens are completely dry because they will rust- I suggest putting them in the oven (remember to remove gasket).

the rest of the story.....
I have owned this strainer since the early '80's, I paid a whopping $43.90 plus $2.60 postage. It does get the job done but it is very messy, juice squirts out and you have to constantly take off the strainer to clean it out, seeds get stuck in the holes, you best work outside on the picnic table IF you can get the little clamp to clamp it down, I bent it trying to fasten it to the table tighter as it does move around if not tightened securely. An improvement would be to make the clamp open a lot wider to tighten down to a thicker table top. You must be meticulous about the cleaning, the cones are not rust proof, and the red rubber gasket will get brittle and crack over time and if you don't remove it when cleaning, rust and gunk will be underneath it. I put all parts in the oven to thoroughly dry and spray the cones with cooking oil to prevent rust. The picture on the book shows a granny and a little boy making tomato sauce-the hopper is filled plumb to the top! You can only fill it halfway per directions so the pic is misleading. All that being said it is fun to crank- grandkids like to take turns- and speedy if you have your tomatoes prepared the right way...(remove skins for less clogging up) I had to buy several stiff wire brushes to get the blasted seeds out that were difficult to remove. Apples for sauce is not as troublesome. Just the flies if you are doing this outdoors. They said they still make it exactly the same way they did back in the '80's and if that is so why does it now cost $200.00??

Wow what an excellent processor! This specific strainer was recommended by a friend who said her mother used to have one and it worked like a dream. The peels and seeds really do separate and come out of the side of the strainer , you can see the beautiful texture of the sauce coming out of the front. It made wonderful thick sauce. Easy to assemble and easy to clean. I look forwar to using the two other strainer sizes in the near future! an excellent product and worth every cent!

MUST BUY!!!!!
Great item for making sauces. Can't believe we were doing it the hard way for so long. Only drawback is you can't us under ripe tomato's. It plugs the auger up and you have to clean it out more often. With ripe tomato's my wife and I did 4 bushels in a hour. Saved ALOT of time. I would get one if you do sauces or jellies.

Wonderful machine.
This is my second Squeezo. My husband accidentally put the first one in a yard sale when we moved. He's lucky he's still alive. It's not cheap, but well worth the cost. I have principally made jams and applesauce. It really squeezes the fruit dry, separating the pulp and juice from the skin, seeds, etc. I recommend it.

Works very nice. Not quite as heavy as our older one but time will tell if it holds up as long. Very happy to see it's still made in the USA.

Something so simple, yet so good
We bought the Squeezo Deluxe second hand to deal with our ever increasing quantity of tomatoes. It's many years old, but still functions like magic. Overall, I can't believe that something being produced for so long, without change, is still so good. (I guess you don't mess with a good thing)Using the product is easy. Mount it on the table, and set one bowl out for the juice, and one out to collect the fibrous parts. Cut whatever you're wanting to juice/sauce into chucks small enough to fit down the chute (which is pretty good sized), and crank away at a reasonable pace. It's easy to turn, and you will see the juice coming out through the screen and down the ramp. If the pulp still feels wet, just run it through again. When done, pop the parts apart, clean, and lay out to dry. The hopper is large, so you aren't constantly having to feed stuff in.The entire construction is metal, so this thing lasts a long time. The parts are pretty easy to clean, and if you have any parts break, you can still buy all of the individual pieces through the current manufacturer (it changed hands a while back). This style also benefits in that unlike many of the motorized strainers/juicers, this doesn't heat what you're trying to strain, so the nutrients stay in the food. The benefit of the Deluxe model is that you get the additional screens along with all of the standard parts. If you are looking for something to help with saucing, juicing, etc., the Squeezo is what you want.

Makes canning much easier and quicker!
I've got a 'real original' Squeezo I purchased nearly 40 years ago, have taken care to clean it well when finished using, and it's keeps on going. This unit has made hundreds of quarts of tomato juice, applesauce, and many pints of puree for jams. It's also great when cooking/canning squash or using to make baby food.If you're into knowing what goes in your food through canning your own items as noted, you'll not be disappointed. My brother-in-law liked ours so well, he bought one and hooked up a motor to his over 30 years ago and there may be some to fit these units. Research online will give that info. This item beats the old circular 'food mill' many times over and is less labor intensive.
