Legrand - OnQ Phone Data Module, Phone Module for Three Way Conference Calling, Two Phone Lines and One Data Connection for Up to 6 Rooms, 100 Mbps Ethernet, CO1000

This product seemed like the perfect solution for combining Phone and Ethernet through use of ONE Cat5e cable to a wall plate. I wanted a hub to integrate into my ON Q distribution panel that would allow me to connect all of my Data and phone lines in one place. AS it turns out this module does not operate as a switch for data. The instructions DO say that you may need additional equipment to use this device. I should've read the product specs a little closer. I DID call On-Q and talk to a customer service rep. t clarify my needs and this is what was recommended. I think there was a breakdown in communication!

I was skeptical that these would work so well. But I have been pleasantly surprised so far.You need to pay attention to how they are configured. They use the 'A' standard for wiring Ethernet. While most commercial products (particularly cabling) tend to use the 'B' standard. I already had my Ethernet cables in the panel wired to 'B' so I had to make the necessary adjustments in the wall... Wiring the On-Q / Legrand WP1000-LA PDP Phone/Data/Power Standard Strap to match up with my panel. No problem, just be aware.One problem, If you have an older On-Q panel box, the mounting bracket that comes with this will not line up with any holes - so it does not mount. However, this will snap right into an old-style mounting bracket designed for those boxes. I had an open slot in mine and popped it right in.It all functions as designed... Data and Phone down one Cat5e or Cat6 cable.

This is the 2nd house that I have installed the OQ 6 port phone data module with the WP1000 phone/data strap. The combination allows the simultaneous phone and data distributed with one wire. Both products install easily and you can add additional modules if you have more than 6 outlets. I haven't found any product from other manufacturers that does the same function.
