Better than expected!
I bought the J5040-itx for general purpose office work.It uses 20 watts idle and 35 watts under heavy load.I started the build by updating the bios from 1.6 to 1.7.The drivers on the dvd supplied are out of date so Idownloaded the latest and installed them.I was amazed that it will playback blu-ray video without stutterObviously not suitable for video rendering , but I tried it and it took 40 minutesto render a hd video cf 6.5 minutes on my i5 12400 setup.I would have given it five stars if it had an NVMe socket.Its a good all round system for a media centre.

Very good Budget motherboard. I use it as my daily PC.
This is a very good motherboard with embedded Intel Quad Core Pentium Silver J5040 3.20Ghz cpu.I installed 8 GB DDR4 Laptop RAM.I have a 1 TB SATA SSD, and 2 TB HDD, and Plextor SATA DVD Writer installed.For Display I have a 22 inch HDMI AOC monitor.I use this computer for web browsing, emailing, youtube, watching downloaded movies, listening to music, torrenting.This CPU on this motherboard can playback 4k 2160p @60fps videos on YouTube.This motherboard does not support Linux. Only supports Windows. I migrated from Kubuntu to Windows 10 after buying this motherboard.

Great TrueNAS motherboard
I was looking for a mini-itx low power consumption NAS motherboard with a CPU combo and this by far rocks. So much so, I have bought 3, 2 for myself to have redundancy, and 1 for my son to introduce him to an Enterprise level NAS implementation. Running with 2x8GB sticks and 4x6GB drives configured as a RAIDZ2 array giving me great redundancy per server with a total of 13+TB of storage each. I also added an Intel NIC to compensate for the bottleneck Realtek NIC as they are the cheap MB solution with subpar performance. If you are looking for a Windows all in one, I would suggest looking elsewhere. This is in my opinion a great NAS board.

Placa Asrock J5040-ITX perfecta para el uso que le doy un equipo multimedia para el salón y sustituir a mi antigua J3455B-ITX que se portado muy bien pero el tiempo pasa y se ha quedado atrás estaba en duda entre esta y la ASROCK N100M pero me echo atrás el que solo tiene un slot de memoria RAM y solo dos puertos sata .Solo sustituirla en mi caja Cooler Master tipo cubo, actualizar la bios antes de instalar nada (se descarga de la propia web de Asrock ) conecte dos modulos de memoria ( Crucial RAM 8GB DDR4 2400MHz CL17 ) . Instalar mi Windows 10 dejarlo actualizar todo y instalar Windows 11 sin problema reconoce los 16 GB de ram y windwos 11 con un consumo ridículo y sin ruidos de momento todo perfecto que dure así.

Ottimo rapporto qualità / prezzo per utilizzo come server
Cercavo una motherboard per un mini server in ufficio che sostituisse il mio vecchio NAS: col tempo ho capito che preferisco una soluzione più configurabile utilizzando Ubuntu server, piuttosto che un NAS proprietario.Le caratteristiche che cercavo nella motherboard erano queste:- economica (sia di costo che di consumi);- silenziosa (fanless);- con CPU integrata;- di marca rinomata;- con 4 attacchi SATA per poter connettere più dischi.Questa motherboard ha tutte le caratteristiche sopra elencate. Bisogna aggiungere solo la RAM (supporta fino a 32Gb con bios recente, bisogna prendere quelle indicate nella compatibility list sul sito del produttore), uno o più dischi (io ho messo un ssd per il sistema e due HDD da 3.5 per i dati per ora), un alimentatore (consigliato uno di qualità) e un case, e si ha un server pronto ad un prezzo davvero conveniente.La sto usando come server utilizzando containers Docker su Ubuntu per vari servizi (Mattermost, sftp, NGINX reverse proxy, ecc.). Ce l'ho da alcuni mesi, accesa 24 ore su 24, silenziosissima, affidabile, mai avuto un problema.Non credo che sia adatta per videogiochi, uso intensivo di scheda video o attività che usano intensivamente cpu e scheda grafica: la sua destinazione d'uso è quella per cui la sto utilizzando io, e per questo tipo di utilizzo la consiglio vivamente.RACCOMANDAZIONE: l'inserimento della ram richiede molta forza, inserite le schede RAM dopo aver fissato la scheda nel case, o rischiate di rovinarla.
