Like others, I was a bit skeptical when I opened the box and saw this tiny little lantern. Then I realized how cleverly it is folded into itself. Just pull up the outside handles and raise the entire thing up and that turns it on. It is very compact, very light weight (without feeling flimsy), and truly it lit up my house as if the lights were on. In one of the photos I show it next to some lotion so you can see how compact it is. In fact, it is less than 5 inches when folded up, and about 7 1/2" when raised (not including the handles). While I have not use this for any extended amount of time so I can't comment on how long the batteries will last, I could not be more thrilled. The photos of the lantern where it does not do it justice. This lantern is bright !!!!

This lantern is great. It's light weight, compact and it super bright for it's size. If your looking for a small bright lantern to use for almost any activity, this is the one. I definetly would recommend it.

This little camp lantern may look small, but don't look directly at it when you open it! We have a camping trip coming up in a couple weeks and we've been going through out camping gear. I realized our old battery operat d lanterns were no longer working and the batteries had corroded inside them (oops! Note to self don't leave batteries in the things store in the basement.) I have been changing over most all of our lighting to LEDs and thought this latern would be perfect. I purchased it and I thought I was going to be disappoint when I saw the box. I thought it was going to be too small to light our large tent, but I was wrong. The latern is compact and when closed is only about 5" tall. The handle fold neatly into and hug the cylinder shape of the latern in the opened (on) or closed (off) position. The handles can also be folded up all the way and used to carry the lantern or hang it. It runs off just 3 AA batteries, which is the easiest battery to find around our house. It says it will run for 15 hours on those batteries. We use our propane lanterns for outdoor cooking, so our battery lanterns only run maybe 1 to 2 hours per evening or getting up in the early in the mornings. That means those 3 little AA could last us for a full week long camping trip or 3 or more weekend trips. While the size originally concerned me, after using it I love how compact it is. It's so lightweight and we can squeeze it in with our gear practically anywhere. Apparently, these are different than just regular LEDs but, whatever they are,they are bright! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a tent camping latern or it would even be perfect for an emergency kit for when the power goes out.
