Canyon Hoops Infinity Collapsible Weighted Exercise Travel Hoop - Made in USA

I purchased this because our Seniors group at church was having a hula hoop contest. I only had a week to practice, it's a good thing for reliable, fast Amazon shipping. The first couple of days, I couldn't keep it up, but then I started to get the hang of it. It's a little over a week now, and I am going for 3-4 minutes, and hula hooping every day. I have to put my hands on the back of my head, or I forget to keep my hands up. The hoop twists down easily so you can carry it, it folds and unfolds slowly so it's not one of those pop-up types. I think it's important that the hoop already has the friction tape on it, which helps keep it up. When you unfold it, you have to spend a minute twisting it to get it flat again, but it does not get out of shape while using it. It said the shipping weight was 3.5 pounds, and on my kitchen scale it weighed 3 pounds. This feels extremely light, and I could easily do something heavier, but the only hoops that are heavier than that have lumps on the inside, and I didn't want to torture myself. Already my knees feel stronger. Also, I have to breathe, because I can get surprisingly out of breath for something you do while standing in one spot. Oh, and I won the contest.

I wanted to love this but unfortch it did not do the trick. While the collapsible design is very cool, the hoop in its full position never achieved proper symmetry/balance despite multiple attempts to adjust it, so even waist hooping was no fun. Also, while advertised for off-body moves, it is seriously way too heavy for that; I tried a few elbow moves and practically broke my nose.

I have a hoop personally made for me. I bought this so I could hoop on my recent road trip... I must have been mistaken, but I thought it said it weighed 4lbs. It is very lightweight. Too light for me. My hoop is maybe 4inches taller than this, and I thought it was too big, so I assumed this would be better. Still a good product though. Shipping was reasonable as well. I gave it to my cousin on my trip.

Bought this for my girlfriend's birthday. She's into hoop dancing and doing tricks as a workout. She loves this. It's a great weight and the collapsible feature is really nice for storing it. From my points of view, this isn't the typical piece of plastic hoop that I think of when I think of a hula-hoop; It actually feels high quality. Great Hoop and product overall!

I didn't realize until after the item arrived that you are only supposed to collapse the hoop if you are traveling, and that collapsing it is kind of a pain. The reason I bought a collapsible hoop was so I could stow it away easily in my tiny home. Oh well. It's still a really good hula hoop- good quality, good weight.

I am so in love. It's the right weight and feels great.Got the 40'' (since I'm new to hooping) It's gorgeous and technically I'd rather be hooping with it right now than writing this review, but thought that writing it would be more helpful for future buyers. I would buy 10 of these if I could.

Bought this for my niece who loves to hoop. She has taken it to many occasions and although she is an expert hula Hooper the sparkles while she performs is impressive. Only negative is the black taping loosened but she fixed it herself with no difficulty. This was given to her in May now it's August and still she loves it and uses it almost daily.
