85% of a premium smartphone 15% of the price
This review is for the folks who are wondering if they can live with a cheap/budget smartphone after sticking with big brand flagship phones. I'm in a position where I need to hand in a phone provided by work - a Samsung s10. A truly beautiful thing. So the question is - do I spank close to a grand on another flagship smartphone, or can I get away with a budget model. Interesting experiment. After some research on budget smartphones this one stood out from the Oppos, Redmi etc. - largely because I figured OnePlus would put some effort into their version of the Android UI after building a decent brand for themselves with their own high-end smartphones. So how did it work out? - can I live with a budget smartphone? Bear in mind I am a UI geek and care about the details. The answer is yes - It's surprisingly good for the money. I keep waiting for it to glitch or miss a beat - but so far it's been a smooth performance. In terms of that luxurious UI detail, build quality and performance of the expensive phones I'd say it's about 85% of that kind of quality. The camera is a bit mediocre - but easily sufficient - I think that's probably where you're paying the big bucks elsewhere. All elements considered though, it's good enough for me.Copied everything across from my old phone like a dream. Runs all my apps in exactly the same way the S10 did. What I love most, is that if I drop and crack it - or lose the damn thing, I really won't care that much. If I did that with a thousand pound smart phone I'd die a little inside. So to summarise - it really is a great phone - and really not that different from the big brand flagship phones.

Buy one,you won't be disappointed at this price!
Great phone for the price, excellent battery life. Keyboard typing can be a tad glitchy when using a third party so and junp out to home screen but I have old style setting . If your happy with gestures this won't be an issue possibly for you. Smooth stable clean o.s. Seems to get good signal strength and not to much noise on voice calls.. Onlyn disapointment was the sound quality when playing music and did have total GPS failure when using the navigation app (alternative app worked great) .Overall great value for price

A better than expected budget phone.
This is the first time in which I feel One Plus hasn't offered fantastic value simply good value. The screen is clear and works well, I'm quite impressed with the speed of how it feels and although the specifications aren't special it works well. I have seen it next to an iPhone SE 2020 and I think the images look clearer on the OnePlus rather than the iPhone. The camera is good and I have attached a few of pictures taken using this phone. One close up, a night landscape and an internal shot.

Superb value even compared to the flagship models
My expectations weren't too high with this one I've used one plus on and off for years and always been impressed but recently got the one plus 7t pro which is 4x the price of this phone, however due to unfortunate circumstances I lost it and could not afford to replace it. I saw the deal on this phone for 139.99 and thought it would be a pale imitation but if I'm honest it just makes me think I overpaid for my last phone. It is more than capable of anything I throw at it and I am a power user the only thing I think it would struggle with is gaming and the only downside I have found so far is no NFC

Great phone, Exceeded my expectations
This phone is absolutely amazing it's entirely worth the price, the battery is amazing it lasts all day with heavy usage and it's still got battery percentage spare at the end of the day, the huge screen is great for watching content and playing games and the speakers are louder than some Bluetooth speakers that I've seen

Just Had A Few Problems,The Rest Was Good! Nevermind it doesn't work anymore it doesn't turn on!
Really good phone,(This message is for the company)the only thing we didn't like was that it was too long for its width, also, when we installed Facebook, the options screen would glitch,I don't know if it's the app, that is glitching,or the phone, the rest was good(About 3 months later)This phone isn't working, yesterday (10/07/2021) it randomly turned off and wouldn't power back on again, about 1/2 hours before it worked perfectly fine,we tried ringing that phone from another one in the house but nothing worked,we are not happy about this, while just contacted the seller, hopefully they'll do something.

Good value and worthy backup
I bought this phone after smashing my pixel 4 screen. Having looked at the specs and reviews, I really wanted to try it out.Pro'sValue - it's a decent price for a budget phone. It's never going to compete with the mid range, but it's up to par for a phone which is sub £150.Screen - I know it's 720p but unless you're gaming you're really not going to notice to much difference. There is the odd pixelation on very small icons but streaming and social media is way more than adequate. It's a hefty size as well so you don't need it right on your nose to see movies or read text.OS - its basic android OS and I like it. Nothing too fancy and works well. It stutters occasionally when you click apps to open, but otherwise it's great.Con'sSize - it's far larger than I wanted being much larger than a Pixel 4 & iPhone 11. It doesn't fit in your pocket very well and as a trail runner, it isn't great for packing in your trail vest. (my issues though and not for the everyday peeps)Slow - it does stutter when your using apps. Not even gaming, just every day social media or email. It will take several Miliseconds to open them which is a real shame as I'd expect only gaming apps to do this.Camera - having come from the pixel it is a substantial drop in quality. Low light is pointless and sharpness in good light is poor. I'm sure it's ok if you're not used to top end phone cameras but you'll be left wanting more everytime you take a shot.Overall as a sub £150 I can't say it's not worth the money because it jolly well is. You just have to manage your expectations. This is my first One+ phone and I'm very keen on trying the top end of their range.Glad I bought it.
