Q: I would like to use these in the bathroom. Is it too humid for these tiles?

I don't know how humid your bathroom is, but I think they would be fine. If moisture got in behind them and caused mold that would be a problem. Attach them well with liquid nail and I think the tiles themselves would be okay. I have used them in three different rooms. No problem. Painting them is the key to the polished look.

Q: my ceiling is 18' X 17' how many of these would I need?

121 because will will be cutting every tile as it hits the wall if you center them. 18' dimension is 10.8 tiles 17'is 10.2 tiles so really 11x 11 = 121 is needed.

Q: Can these be painted like to a copper spray paint look and used for a kitchen backsplash?

Some plastics and Styrofoams can not be spray painted because they dissolve. I used acrylic craft paints with sponges and brushes on mine and got a great antique tin ceiling look. I'm not sure if I would use this material as a backsplash. The tile can be easily dented with your fingernail, and they might be flammable or at lest melt from any appliance heat. I would get one and test it out first to make sure it's what you are looking for.
