What good is that for?I am baking sourdough bread often. Contrarily to baguettes that may not need it, sourdough bread really benefits from a proofing basket, mainly for the reason that I use a lot of flour in the basket to make sure that my dough does not stick to the basket.How is the flour staying in place in the proofing basket prior to putting the dough in? With the liner. The liner is usually made of rough fabric that will allow the flour to coat it evenly.Without a liner, this thing is pretty much useless to me. I tried to find a liner that may do the trick but no dice.In conclusion:This is akin to selling a bike without wheels.1 star.

The basket works great. But, keep in mind that it is big. If you're baking one to one-and-a-half pound loaves this 12-inch basket will work, but probably excessive. If you're baking a big three pound miche, this basket would be perfect.

Had smaller bannetons which work well with 3 cups of flour. Needed this larger banneton for bread that has upwards of 6 cups of flour. Works beautifully.

This is a little bigger than I thought but I icee s***. Not a product problem. I'll just make huggger loaves.
