Cooling relief, good price point. Most of all it actually works
This product lists the active ingredient as 6% Menthol USP. It smells a lot like a menthol cough drop. I was a little worried that it might have some strong pervasive odor, that is not the case. The smell is strong when first applied but dissipates after a few minutes. The important thing is the results. For my minor arthritis, in hands feet, and neck, the cooling relief was almost instant. The pain relief seems to last full on for about 45 minutes. When the pain does return, it does that slowly. If you apply this before sleep, you will be most likely be sleeping before the relief wears off. It is not greasy. The only minor thing I did not like, was that by the time this product arrived, a small amount of the cream had leaked out into the cap. I just used my finger to scoop that out of the cap and happily apply. Speaking of that, be sure to wash your hands if you apply it that way. My eyes got a tiny bit watery after I placed my hands near them without washing.List of inactive ingredients (on the product that I received):aloe vera extract, carbomer (yes that is spelled right), decyl polyglucose, deionized water, grapefruit seed extract, green tea extract, lemon peel extract, queen of prairie extract, rose water, sodium hydroxymethylglycinate, vegetable glycerin, witch hazel, and yucca extract. The package does list a phone number (1-800-225-3963) for questions and comments. The directions do recommend applying only 3 to 4 times a day, for age 2 through adult. My product, received 17 OCT 2012, had an EXP date of 08-14. I will be ordering two more of these today. I just do not want to run out of the product. With the price and longevity, having one or two on hand makes good sense to me.Enjoy.

Easy to use
I’ve been using the cream/gel for years and recently decided to use the roller. It is easy to apply and works well. It has a nice strong menthol scent and warms the area it is applied to

My go to for migraines
I have been a lover of this for 15+ years. It goes with me in my purse. I use it on my head, back of neck when I'm getting/ have a migraine. It doesn't make it go away, but I prefer the cooling sensation and little Citrus mint smell while I'm fighting a migraine. The roller ball is a huge bonus as I don't like getting this on my hands unless I'm able to wash them immediately. (Forgot to wash hands after use once and touched my eye.. little cooling sensation in the eye was odd but went away fast).

It won't make you hot.
I like that it doesn't make me hot. It's thick , needs a little shake to get onto roller for application. And only has one active ingredient..

Good Product But Should Improve Packaging.
The Sombra Cool Therapy was just alright in my opinion. It acts much like an icy/hot but is supposed to be comprised of better more natural ingredients which is a good thing in my book. The application however was lacking. The roller ball design is a failure on this one, unless I just got a dud. It seems you have to squeeze and then roll, and squeeze and roll some more. Actually rolling in putting it gently, it's more like rubbing since I don't think the ball actually does what it's supposed to as far as the rolling goes. The gel just squeezes through the sides of the ball and then you glad the ball over the applied amount to rub it in. The sensation to me wasn't necessarily cold or hot...just tingly. Perhaps that's just me but I couldn't tell if it was more of a cold feeling than a hot one but I definitely felt it. It didn't hurt and it did deter the pain.Originally I purchased this in (crazy) hopes of rubbing it on both mine and my sons temples for our migraines. He is 10 so he doesn't take meds for his migraines and usually ends up throwing up if the pain is bad, so I thought this might work. Well, it's FAR too methol-scented to do that because one drop of this near your face and your eyes tear up like your watching The Notebook (admit it, you cried at the ending!) I was hoping it would work like the old Head-On product worked. However, that's no fault of Sombra. If you want to try it for that, do it at your own risk but it's not the intended purpose so I can't knock the company. All in all I gave it three stars because I would purchase it over icy hot due to the ingredients but the design needs to change or improve the roll-ability (is that a word..well, I made it one!) Other than that it does work it reducing pain while it's on the affected area. I used it mostly on my knees and back of my legs when I had some cramping or tightness.
