Truly addictive puzzles!
Recommended for people who enjoy the most difficult SuDoku puzzles. These puzzles can be daunting to newcomers. Solvers need to develop a bag of tricks through experience (maybe 10 or more puzzles should get you there). Each puzzle comes with an expected time to solve it (40 to 140 minutes). These estimates are intimidating. I found that puzzles fall into two categories: manageable or impossible. The manageable puzzles can be done much faster than the book suggests. The impossible ones often took far longer, usually because I kept making mistakes. Nevertheless, even these puzzles were satisfying to work on. Enjoy!

Killer Sudoku beats regular Sudoku hands-down
Killer Sudoku adds another dimension to Sudoku which both complicates and simplifies the game. Not only must the solver deal with restrictions of horizontal and vertical dimensions, and boxes, s/he must also cope with arbitrary 'cages' drawn around random numbers, with the numerical total given in a corner. As with any restriction in this game, this means the puzzle-worker must consider yet another factor when solving. However, the restriction can aid in solution, as well, since (for instance) a five square cage numbered 35 can only contain the numbers 5 through 9.I first met this type of puzzle through The London Times, and still cannot bring myself to work anyone else's version. Fortunately, The Times feeds my addiction by publishing their accumulated works on a regular basis. Puzzles from Easy to Deadly are published in their regular Killer Sudoku series, and puzzles ranked only Deadly to Extra Deadly are published in their Ultimate Killer Sudoku series.Buying these books saves the puzzler a great deal of money, since otherwise, s/he would have to pay the regular newspaper subscription price.

Good book but the difficulty level is too great for me. I guess that is why it is called "The Ultimate Killer". I was in too much of a hurry to receive it in time for Christmas that I did not notice "Ultimate Killer" on the cover. DUH, I need to learn to open my eyes and pay attention.

He normally races through them at an unbelievable pace but this one took a good couple of weeks to do
Bought for my Dad to keep him occupied on his holiday and it must've worked because he didn''t finish it in the week. He normally races through them at an unbelievable pace but this one took a good couple of weeks to do. I will be buying him the other books in the series as very impressed.

Warning: addictive!
I absolutely love these puzzles, & always do them in pencil so that I can rub my answers out & do them over & over again - until eventually the paper wears so thin that I have buy another book. The only trouble is that they're so addictive (or, I'm such a masochist) that I do tend to lose out on much-needed beauty sleep!

Good & difficult
Not quite so good as the Absolutely Nasty series but gives you a better chance of completing the puzzle unaided

Great
Essential for travelling and coffee time...these are not for beginners buty not impossible either. Some books are more challenging and I would choose one of those for a long haul flight.

Consistently challenging
This series of books are consistently challenging. The early ones can sometimes be done very quickly if your brain workings are similar to the compiler. A pencil with eraser is definitely required for this one!

It's OK
The puzzles are far to easy.If you do a similar puzzle from a newspaper with a given time of 50 minutes it usually takes 50 minutes. If you do one from this book it takes much less time.

brain exercise
I like to go from page 1 to 31, 61, 91, etc. through the book, then 2, 32, 62 etc. so that I'm frequently returning to the easier ones to give more confidence to tackle the harder ones at the back of the book.

Brilliant!
This is my preferred level of sudoku, so I know I'm getting something which I can do, but with enough effort to make it a worthwhile challenge.Would recommend anyone else to try a few puzzles and see what works for them and then buy a book at that level.

Waste of Money
For SERIOUS Killer fans, this book is a joke: Beginner's stuff. I don't understand why the Ultimate Killer 1 was so good (difficult) and this and Books 2 & 3 are so easy. If you like your puzzles to be truly Deadly or Extra Deadly, avoid this like the plague.
