I can confirm this works with Macbook Pro (MBP) M4 Pro laptop. It is just plug and play. The only thing I had to do after inserting this adapter for the first time was click “Allow” in the pop-up window to allow my MBP to use the adapter. Other than that it has been working great. I needed this to test my “1 gb” connection from my internet service provider (ISP). I can say it does transfer more than a 1gb, as I saw about 1.1-1.2gb down and upload speeds using Speedtest connected directly to my router/gateway. However, I CANNOT confirm if this does up to 2.5 gb (hence the 4 stars). I bought this in case I do switch to a 2.5 gb service plan in the future. We’ll see if it still works then.

I used this adapter to configure an ER605 router appliance. Worked great for that. I also used it on a laptop that had problems connecting to wireless. It enabled me to connect the laptop to the internet while I fixed the Wi-Fi issues. Very handy adapter to have around.
