A game changer
I was born in the 70's so I can drink tap water with ice. My husband is the same way. However, my mom is super bougie and will only drink bottled water. We have a filter on our fridge and she calls that "Kool-aid" water, meaning she needs to add some drops of Crystal Light or Mio.This skipped a generation and my daughter is just as bougie if not more than my mother, AKA Bougie-Tron and Bougiemas-Prime accordingly. When my daughter said we should buy a cold water dispenser, I was aghast. This was too much of a luxury, especially in these times of COVID! I put my foot down that it would not include a hot dispenser. We can use the kettle and that dispenser hot does not make a good cup of tea.So I was like, Ok, if and only if I find one with one cold and one room temperature, will I buy one. Then I find this Vitapur. My daughter was a high school senior in 2020. No prom, no grad night, no graduation. I mean, at least she can have cold water right? My emotions got the best of me and I ordered it late one night. When I came to my senses, I warned everyone that I was most likely going to send it back. I told my daughter to set it up but I think she didn't want to get attached. Ok fine. I set it up and I grumbled the entire time. Then I took the 5 gallon bottle down the the mini-mall to fill up. It was $0.25/gallon. WHAT?!!!!! THAT'S IT??!!! I thought of all the Crystal Geyser I bought at $0.99/gallon and how I thought that was a deal but actually I have been getting ripped off for 20 years! I filled up my bottle for $1.25 and put it on my new Vitapur. I waited about 20min and poured my first glass.I was transformed. OMG, the cold water, the convenience, the space that can fit my big tumbler so I don't have to lean my cup. So refreshing, so hydrating. Soon the whole family was sitting around this slim fit cooler just getting drunk on cold water. There are 4 of us in the house and we drank that gallon in 24hours. I didn't realize how thirsty we were! It's been about 3 weeks and we bought two more bottles. We go through 3 bottles a week. Everyone is drinking more water. I know my consumption has gone up by at least 30%. The Vitapur is not like the Sabodo Gigante sized Arrowhead cooler my grandmother used to have. The bottles aren't these 90lb glass bricks that spilled half the water on the floor. This is easy, convenient and a game changer. I use room temperature in the morning or when I take my vitamins, otherwise I drink several glasses of cold water a day. It is not loud and I don't notice the sound. The refrigerator is louder and it is quiet as well.Don't overthink, don't second guess. Buy this little slice of lux for yourself. It's 2020. At least you can get through this year with cold water!

Unboxed it and let it sit upright for 24 hours prior to using it. I cleaned it thoroughly with vinegar and water then put the water bottle on top.Using a 5 gallon bottle, the bottle sits firmly and no issues with fitment.Water flows at a good fast rate from the nozzles. The cooler itself is very short, I expected it to be taller. I have to bend over to fill a glass. Sits way too low for me.After 12 hours, I noticed a large puddle of water at the base. I cleaned it up and after about 2 hours I noticed more water at the base. It keeps leaking water so I will be returning this. This was shipped via UPS and they're not exactly stellar with protecting packages so I am getting the same model to see if it's a manufacturing defect or damage from shipping.UPDATE: 25 MAR 2021I received my replacement unit and since it was shipped by the same carrier I was a little worried. Got this one cleaned and setup and I have to say there are no issues so I give it 4 stars now.The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because the height on this thing is ridiculously short. If you're 5'5" and shorter, this the perfect size. If you're 6' or taller, it will give your legs a workout. I'm considering building a pedestal for this to sit on. Other than that, it's keeping the water really cold and no leaks. I like it!

Works very well, great price if you don't want/need hot water.
I purchased this and have been happy with it. Pretty quiet and even without adjusting the temp my water is plenty chilly. This unit is chilled or room temperature water choices. I did not want or need a hot dispenser, so I chose this. Very light and easy to move when no bottle is in use. This model has an adjustable setting on the back of it to raise/lower the cold water's temperature to fit your needs. Has a removable water bottle support collar to allow for water filtering bottles to fit it, and fit regular bottles when it is not removed.

Adds a bad flavor to water
We have used it with several 5 gallon jugs and the water out of this machine still tastes terrible. At first it was a very plastic taste. I tried flushing it and "cleaning" it. The machine size is pretty small so if you are taller than 4.5 feet you will have to bend over.It has been several weeks and the taste has not improved. Not so much a plastic taste as it did at first, now it tastes more metallic and a little like drinking out of the hose, but not in a good way. We have been using the same 5 gallon jugs we've had delivered for more than 10 years. It's not the water. So this dispenser is going in the trash. The final straw was the dogs refusing to drink it.

Very nice cooler.
Very nice cooler. It’s the 4th cooler I’ve owned/rented in the last 25 years, and so far, the best. From my experience, coolers eventually need to be replaced because they stop cooling sufficiently and/or the compressor gets very noisy. This cooler has 2 spickets, one for room temperature water and one for cold, exactly what I want. If I want hot water, I just zap the room temperature water in the microwave. The water flow out of the spickets is also faster than my previous coolers, which is much nicer. So far the compressor is very quiet, can’t really even hear it when it turns on. The cold water temperature has a temperature rheostat on the back of the unit. The cooler came with the rheostat set in the mid-range which is refrigerator cold. Very happy with this cooler, so far. Would buy again.

more noise than crickets indoors and junk dispenser valves
The refrigeration unit makes more noise than crickets. This thing squeaks so loudly it can be heard all over the house. finally unplugged it.Both the room temp and chilled water valves stick open when released frequently causing overfilling and spillage.Unit is so short that bending far forward to fill pitchers or dog's bowl if quite difficult. This product is nothing but inconvenient and frustrating
