It works!!
How about this range extender hoping to extend the range and eliminate dead spots in my apartment due to my router being stuffed in the back of the closet. OMG! It works! I used the Plug and Play method to hook it up to my router via the wpk button. It only took a couple seconds to actually hook up to the router and make a solid circuit. Once that was done I moved the extender to the far side of my apartment, mind you, there's three doorways, four walls, and the kitchen island along with a full size bathroom between my router and the extender. Once the extender reboot it from being moved from the router it showed four bars of service. I hook my Smart TV that is in my bedroom too the extender and have watched three movies streaming from Cinema HD and it has yet to buffer the first time. I have watched one movie on Netflix and it has yet to buffer. Main reason I bought the extender was due to the buffering on my Smart TV. It works well, very worth the small $28 investment. Highly recommend! 5 out of 5 stars!

Setup is fast and easy if you have WPS enabled on your router.
This wireless range extender was easy to install (about 5 minutes) and allows me to view Hulu on my Fire TV without interruption by increasing my signal strength from "fair" to "very good". After reading many negative reviews about installation problems, let me give you some tips: 1) Make sure your wireless router operates on 2.4GHz or it will not work with the DAP 1330. 2) Check with your Internet Service Provider to insure that your WPS is enabled on your router. 3) When connecting your laptop, printer or other device, enter the password for your router NOT the password listed on the configuration card that comes with the range extender. I never used that password setting up with WPS. If you do not have a WPS button on your router, contact D-Link Technical Support at 877-453-5465. They are easily accessible and will guide you step-by-step through the setup procedure using the wireless utility configuration. This is when you will need the password on your configuration card. I hope this helps.UPDATE: After 2 days, my Fire TV could no longer connect to the DAP-1330. After 3 days of trying without success, I returned it to Amazon for a refund.

but great for the price
Works exactly as described. Maybe not the strongest, but great for the price. For those who are not familiar with these products, this is best if it is line of sight from your computer and to the room you want your secondary device to work. Can't say as to set up, because I made my son connect it for me :)

so now I can plute in a nice outdoor setting while I drink my morning coffee
It took me a couple of hours to get it set up and running. My modem/router supports WPS, but I eventually had to use the web browser option and connect to the setup wizard with an Ethernet chord to get it set up. I was not able to turn it on and pair it up with the router "with the click of a button." I also had to find the manual for my router and eventually had to change the WPS settings so that it would connect to this thing. I currently have the D-Link plugged into a power outlet that my laptop WiFi meter is saying the main router has 2 of the 3 bars lit up, and the signal this thing is putting off has all 3 lit up. I have been using it's signal for about 30 minutes and a few times pages haven't loaded at first attempt, which makes me think there might be too much 2.4 ghz traffic around me, but this hasn't started happening enough to be a nuisance. I think maybe I should have opted for a model that could switch to the 5 mgz as less people and other stuff in my house isn't using that frequency. For 20 dollars it accomplishes what I want though-it gets my signal another 10 feet and through a wall and to the deck, so now I can plute in a nice outdoor setting while I drink my morning coffee.

you get what you pay for from D-Link.
PROs: Small, inexpensive, good signal quality.CONs: POOR PERFORMANCE.. From the description "Up to 300Mbps wireless performance for reliable, everyday performance". This is a falsehood as your getting a poorly 1 MB/s internet. I tried different channels, different wireless modes and received no improvement as to the speed. For some, this is fine as they aren't heavy internet users, unfortunately I am not one of them and this product does not work for me or other like me.

This Tiny Wi-Fi Extender Is Remarkably Powerful
This tiny D-Link N300 WiFi extender is surprisingly strong! It only boosts my 2.4ghz signal (not the 5ghz), but since 5ghz signals only travel in a straight line, and this extender is located 60 feet away through multiple interior walls, (in a one story house) and NOT in a straight line, the 2.4ghz (which doesn't travel in a straight line) is the way to go anyway. I have it plugged in at almost the furthest point from my router, and it still gets 2-3 lights for the signal strength, and gives me the boost I needed for that last little bit of the house (I was getting tired of Amazon Music dropping in and out when I was at the furthest end of the house). As a matter of fact, I'm picking up this extender throughout the house! One thing I've noticed, the extender does get warm, even when it's not "in use".I called customer service at D-Link to get info on this before buying, and the customer service was very good, and helped me to make my decision to purchase.I would recommend this product.

Couldn't get it to connect to my network.
The extender only does 2.4 G band. That would have been fine for my situation. Except that I couldn't get it to connect to the host network. I'm trying to extend the range outside the house to an RV parked in the driveway. I got a more powerful outdoor 2.4 & 5 G extender and that has had no problem. A case of get the right thing the first time rather than try saving money and buying a cheap one.
