Having been a TIVO owner since the first machines hit the market, I was blown away by how compact the new TIVO's are. You can wave it around in one hand as if it were a small book. It's ability to record four channels simultaneously is a huge score though you get some signal loss splitting the signals 4 ways. You can also record from streaming channels if you're one of the folks who have "cut the cord." It has all the main players on its menu. If you have TIVO's on your home network you can tap one machine from another.For instance from my office with an older TIVO, it can tap "My Shows" and see the local recordings on that machine, then see subfolders for the two new machines "Living Room One" and "Living Room Two."Some of the defacto streaming channels include Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Vuduc, Yahoo and several others.

I love the amount of channels 😍 I can get now. In connection with Prime Video I'm about ready to say goodbye to Satellite TV. Love it. To connect to Prime Video follow the instructions on the web site do not call Amazon customer service. I had a horrible experience.

Our In-home TiVo for cable network included four TVs all connected wirelessly. Cable just became too expensive so this TiVo OTA allowed reusing our network by merely swapping out the main box and adding an HDTV Antenna. Setup was quick and easy - just needed to add this AIP service to our account with a toll-free phone call. The cable savings paid for this box and the HDTV antenna in three months! Very Pleased!

My old Roamio died and I urgently needed a DVR. I would've given this 5 stars, but I was shipped a returned unit. It was already setup for another home - wifi name, box name, zip code, favorite channels, etc. It didn't work correctly, static lines in the video and static in the audio (which is probably why it was returned by the 1st owner). I considered returning it also, but I'm a long time Roamio user, and the Edge is similar, so I knew quite a bit about it Using online help (not Tivo's tech support - they start by asking if you plugged in the power cord, duh) I was able to get it running correctly, then did a factory reset, updated the software, switched the wifi to mine, and set it up for my area. After a couple of hours, it now runs great. I didn't pay for all these problems, but fixing it was easier and faster than sending it back. VENDORS: Please don't just put returned units back on the shelf to be sent to some other unfortunate customer like me, and CUSTOMERS: If something is wrong with it, when you return it, put a sign on it saying, "Defective - Do not re-sell."Next day follow-up: When doing remote RF pairing, if the wifi is nearby, unplug power to it. It will interfere with paring.Next week follow up: This unit is back to it's old bad habits. It keeps doing weird things. I've decided to exchange it. I have to keep messing with it to keep it running correctly, and it's limping along while I wait for the replacement.

We did purchase a Channel Master indoor antenna to go with the Tivo. The reception is high quality.I was worried about not knowing what is on television with an antenna, but Tivo gives you a two week programming guide. Very easy to set up and use. I do recommend the manual that is online at Tivo as the manual you receive only allows you to set up. The online manual allows you to see all the wonders that Tivo can perform for you.

I bought this to record Over The Air TV. It does that, but not without difficulties and none of it’s other promises are realized.It has a custom firmware installed for Netflix, Amazon prime and a few other streaming services, but none of those companies do much to keep them updated because the return in investment is increasingly poor as fewer and fewer people invest in TiVo.If you seek a streaming box, make sure it is android based as that is the main market. So you cannot stream from services that don’t develop code for this product such as HBO, Disney etc. when you call for technical support Netflix/Amazon blame TiVo and TiVo blames them. So the user looses. This box is a failure. TiVo are dead or dying.It also does not stream Netflix or Amazon reliably. I’ve had repeated log in screens when I try to stream, blue screens, statements displayed that it cannot provide that service now, try again later, and total box lock ups. I wanted to use it’s 4K Dolby video and Dolby atmos features and they simply don’t work. My blue ray player succeeds where this doesn’t so I know it’s not HDMI cable issues and the other hardware. Intel did the general population no favors with their 4K copyright protection hardware that precludes Joe Average watching 4K for all the wrong reasons. While I’m disappointed with intel this TiVo box is simply a technical failure because of it.We still use it for OTA TV but it is definitely not the integrated product it should be.Having said this, there is no OTA DVR that doubles as a streaming device as far as I can tell, based on my research.

Wonderful to cut the cable cord, now get many channels & everything is great.
