IT Really works, just take your time
I purchased the Simply Straight brush because I saw it reviewed in an online video by a woman with thick hair. I also saw it on television and they were using it on African American hair. I am African American with long mid back curly wavy thick medium coarse hair. I was concerned because most people were getting bad results so I quickly tried mine out just in case I didn't like it. Was I pleasently surprised to find that this brush staightened my hair well, fast, and safely. The most important thing to remembe with this brush is that you need to hold your hair taut and go slowly and ensure that your hair is in the bristles because that is what does the straightening. You can not run this brush through your hair like a regular brush an expect great results. I was able to straighten my roots because the tips are rubber and won't burn your hair. If you go slowly you can get your ends straight also. I would advise some of those heat gloves because the hair gets hot. This brush goes up to 450 degrees which is what most good flat irons go to. But this brush isn't damaging like a flat iron because your hair isn't being smashed between hot plates. I straightend half of my head to test the brush. This only took me about 45 minutes. Please understand that it normally takes me 4 hours to flat iron my hair to get a silk press because I have so much hair on my head. So half my hair usually takes 2 hours on a great day. This brush litterally cut the straightening time in less than half and I only had to do 1 to 2 passes to get it really straight. I like super straight hair when i straighten and I was able to achieve it. You must hold your hair taut and you must pass slowly. You also must not use too much hair or you won't get the silky 1 to 2 pass results. You will save time but you can not expect to get Afriican American textured hair straight with this or any straightening tool if you use pieces of hair that are too big. Use the same size or a little bigger than what you use with your flat iron and you will get great results and it will be a healthier process. I washed my hair right after I tried this brush and no heat damage at all. I bought this product on my own and did not receive any discount for a review. this is my unbiased honest review of this brush. This is my second brush. the first one came from a different web site and it died after i got one third of the way through my hair. I sent it back. I came to amazon to see if they had it because it was sold out on the other site. Even with the brush dying the first time, I liked it so much that I bought it again. The brush from this seller did just fine for half of my hair, I only did half because I knew it would work, I just wanted to see if it would die. It did not so I am happy with my purchase and it was cheaper from this seller so I upgraded my shipping to oneday shipping.

Great for my hair type.
I have almost entirely straight hair - I get small waves when it air dries. It’s fine but not thin, and about shoulder length. This is great for my hair type. I lift a small section on top and brush up (to not flatten roots) and then down. I only need one pass and my hair looks straight and shiny but not flat like a flat iron can make it. I do the top layers and then pull it under my hair to get the bottom layers, not bothering to section it out.I had too much hair in it the first time I used it and it did pull a bit but I quickly figured out how much to pull through. I can also brush my bangs with it and smooth them out, much easier than I can with a round brush. I don’t pull out my round brush at all with this actually. The temperature is adjustable and it works at 300-350 for me. I just started using it so I don’t know yet if it will damage my hair, but I am adding a heat protectant as insurance. The price ($14) is great too.

Does NOT meet even the lowest expectations. Junk. Does not work. Buyer Beware. Do not Buy.
NO! Do not waste your money. In order to straighten your hair, you really do need to apply a "pressing" pressure, much like when you iron. Imagine ironing your clothes with anything other than a flat surface. This product is flawed in so many ways. It does not straighten your hair, it does not dry your hair. It is completely useless, nothing more than a glorified brush.I purchased as a present while I was visiting relatives in NY. It so happens their printer was out of ink so I never printed out the return label. I mailed it back using my own package to the return address on the package and NEVER got a refund! I was away for a month and by the time I got home, I completely forgot to follow up and without my receipt, which I left in NY and my niece couldn't find it... well, I'm out $29!!! All that aside... it really is junk! I do not recommend it.

Isn't perfect, but it works. Don't use on wet hair or with hair product.
This product works well on most hair types and textures. If you have thick or curly hair or both it's not perfect, but it works. It's best used on freshly washed hair that's been dried and before putting in any hair product. If you put hair product in when using the brush you'll smell a burning like smell coming from the brush, it's not a fire hazard, but it's not good for the brush if you continue to do so it may cause a short and cause the brush not to function correctly. If you use it on wet hair it'll ruin the brush even faster and that can become a fire hazard.

Good product but use caution
I got this product for my mom who has no patience for styling her hair. She loves to have her hair flat ironed BUT is not patient enough to do it. She has slightly wavy thick blond hair that is just shorter than shoulder length. This is relevant because first she blow drys her hair with the hair dryer. She does not use this product to dry her hair nor do I think it is intended to do so. The brush-like design is a help and a hinderance. It is easier and safer for my mom to brush her hair with this 400 degree hair straightener except for the fact that the product’s instructions state that the device be run underneath the hair not over the hair, the way most of us typically brush our hair. The length of my mom’s hair makes using this device as directed (underneath) dangerous and she’s burned herself a few times. So please use caution if you purchase this product. It does a nice job but does require patience like everything else.
