Suction power is inadequate
The suction power, even on the high (3) setting, is completely inadequate. Granted, I purchased this item for smaller jobs requiring portability, yet I am finding that I am better off lugging around my larger vacuum to tackle all jobs. Makita is a great brand, and I do own several Makita products, but this particular product does not meet my expectations and requires improvement.

Great Vac for Cleaning up Small Messes and Great Auto Vac
I love mine. Use it on a daily basis...I have 2 lab dogs in my house! I see a lot of reviews about poor suction. What is strange is that mine has great suction with the 18Volt 4.0 AH battery. I bought the same exact vacuum and battery, though, for my mom and its suction is terrible! I am wondering if it depends on the manufacturing lot number or something? Regardless, I love mine, but hate my mom's. Hers barely picks up anything. Mine is amazing!

Generally OK, low-suction when full
I've been using this portable vacuum a lot while working in the crawl space under my home. The medium and high settings are fine until the tiny collection bag starts getting loaded up, then the suction really drops off. That is the main flaw with this vacuum. It's really not bad otherwise, and has been useful to me in my work. Just remember to empty the collection bag frequently to maintain sufficient suction.

Just save your money
Very disappointed in the suction power especially for the price you’re better off going to Home Depot and buy a regular shop bag vac for $70 bucks that does a better job that’s just my opinion
