Great way to learn Spanish quickly!
I've always wanted to learn a second language. I took Spanish classes in high school but it never really stuck once I was out of school. Finally, I've found a method that works. This book was great in helping me learn Spanish. It's very well written and easy to understand. Nitzany's method follows the idea that there are only about 350 words that you really need to know in order to gain a basic understanding of any language. It really doesn't take long once you get the hang of it. I ordered and received this book just a few weeks ago and I'm already able to hold basic conversations with my Spanish speaking friends. If you want or need to learn Spanish quickly, I highly recommend this book. Next I plan to purchase the French book in this series.

Important phrases.
Separate the wheat from the chaff and there is a lot of chaff in learning a new language. They say that it takes 1000 words to be able to speak 89% of a conversation. I would say that you need to learn phrases that will get you through most conversations. This book is extremely useful in getting to the conversation level. This is a small book but loaded with very useful phrases. Hope he publishes a follow up. I am 74 and want to learn what I didn't learn with 3 years of Spanish in school.

A great strategy for quick and effective communication
There are many typos in the Spanish translations of the vocab list, especially concerning accents. There are also some mistranslations and errors in the sentences. But, though those make the book feel like it lacks care and polish, I think they should not be considered flaws in either the book or the learning style espoused by the author.I learned Spanish as an adult, and have lived or travelled in about half the Spanish-speaking countries, for a total time of a few years. One of my biggest problems while struggling for fluency was that I would learn particular opening phrases entirely too well. I would pronounce one accurately with correct grammar, and the native speaker would naturally assume I could actually speak! So, they'd rattle off a rapid-fire response and I'd be totally lost. I eventually learned that if my real goal was communication, as opposed to perfect speech, I was far better off speaking very slowly and making some really obvious pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar errors right off the bat.The Spanish-speaking world is huge and diverse. The typical vocabulary and accent vary widely depending on the region, country, and even city. After a few months in one place you might be able to blend in pretty well. But for anything less, learning the Spanish in this book will at least enable you to communicate effectively with shopkeepers and anyone working in the tourism industry. I'm going to use this method for my next language.

Not really helpful
This book was not helpful. The expectation is that it will help you learn basic conversation patterns so you can at least carry-on abasic conversation in Spanish. If you struggle with learning Spanish do not buy this book.

Hola
The media could not be loaded. I’m using the French version of this technique & really enjoying it. So now I’m starting the ”Conversational Spanish”.I moved to the Miami area recently & speak hardly any Spanish. And I found It’s really necessary to learn Spanish if your going to live in South Florida. So with that said, learning the Spanish via this technique is going just as well as the French. So I would recommend highly!

Learning enough Spanish to communicate and get around
The media could not be loaded. My Wife and I were planning to travel to Spain, France, Germany and other countries in Europe this year, but instead we will be staying home thanks to the corona virus. Still I am studying Spanish from this book in preparation for when we finally go. I am finding this book to be just what we need. Please see my video .

My review was removed. Poor formatting.
I see why all of the reviews are so positive. My review explaining the issues with this was removed. Basically the formatting of the book makes the "method" impossible. Words and definitions should be separated into two columns so you can easily obscure one column with a note card or similar thing. This way you can't see the answers as you focus on recall. Instead, it's just word, hyphen, definition separated by one space each. Whats worse, sometimes multiple words and definitions are on one line. So when one line has "si - yes", and the next has estoy - I am / soy - I am, nosotros somos/estamos - we are.." etc, you have to move your note card to the right to reveal the entire line while at the same time revealing words below that line. Would not recommend. Copying my review for when it's deleted again so I can paste it right back :-).

Helpful, informative and interesting
I took French in school, but always wanted to learn Spanish. This little book has helped to get me on my way because It delivers what it promises. I have almost mastered the basics as set forth in this well-organized and simple format. I recommend this book highly to anyone who wants to get started learning and speaking Spanish in a short period of time.

Great book to get started actually having a conversation
This is a fantastic find which I wish I had come across earlier. It clearly sets out structural words and phrases which will allow a learner to start creating sentences and joining concepts together, right from the beginning of learning. If all you want is to be able to talk to your waitress, neighbour or local market vendor, then this book will give you the tools to do this.If you want to become conversationally fluent then you will need a lot more nouns, an understanding of how to conjugate verbs, a clear knowledge of other grammar structures as taught in traditional language courses. If you use this book, alongside a tool to teach you a wide variety of nouns you will be able to communicate clearly much sooner than in a traditional language course. You will be missing some key areas of knowledge, but depending on your goal for communication this may not matter.Regardless of your language goals, I highly recommend this book to anyone learning or picking up Spanish through living in a Spanish speaking country. In addition, I will certainly be checking out the author's other books when I need to refresh my French and learn German. My advice: buy it now, and tell all your language learning friends about it!

Since I got this book, my Spanish started improving ...
Since I got this book, my Spanish started improving so fast. I spent years looking for anything that could help me develop my Spanish speaking skills and I was wound up and frustrated. There is so much rubbish out there; Spanish books and CD's and programs, who all guarantee you will speak Spanish within a week, so at first I assumed this was just another gimmick, however after reading the author bio on page #5, in which he describes in depth how he developed this system over a span of several years and how this method worked for him, so I then decided I would give it a go. The techniques featured in this book are utterly impressive! This system teaches you how to connect words and construct sentences to be used for everyday situations. This system is impeccable and so is this book! Unlike all that other junk on the market, this tidy little book isn't a phrase book, but rather a system. One tip, read the instructions before commencing the program on the 16th page. Soon I will be purchasing Nitzany's Portuguese book.
