This is my 11 year olds first straightener!! she has only used once or twice WITHOUT assistance - but as a person who has straightened their hair with everything from a regular IRON , small flat irons , larger clunkier flat irons for a LONGGG time- I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how good this thing works! Multiple heat/temperature options are great - she can use at a lower temp without worrying about frying her hair. - it’s the perfect size for her tween hands to hold without a struggle ( 8 yr old is able to hold & use as well) My 11y.o daughter has some of the thickest hair I’ve ever dealt with … layers and layers and sections upon sections to work with …. So it takes a lot of time, and repetition to get the smoothness she’s looking for - but that’s got nothing to do with the straightener! I used it with my 15 y.o daughter who has much finer hair and hers was easy and fast enough without having to repeat the same sections. Definitely a good straightener for tweens and teens!
