Energy Saver
It pours really well once the lid is easily taken off. Indeed all 1.5 litres can be poured in a few seconds without spillage. It also reduces the irritation of the wife switching the kettle on, then walking away, only to come back 20 minutes later and repeat the operation as it keeps the water pretty hot or at least reduces the power necessary to reboil the water.

Kettle excellent, Vektra & Amazon customer service terrible, sorted finally
The kettle is excellent and unlike any others easily found, keeping the water you boil hot for up to 4 hours - truly eco and not gimmicky. Seemingly very solid build, though initially it was missing a rubber plug, and now t's just broken at the 2 year mark (trips the electricity now)! Vektra/Grunwerg customer service when I first needed to replace it was beyond terrible (i.e. unresponsive), but Amazon came to the rescue that 1st time and replaced the kettle. Now the kettle failed just the week before the 2 year warranty ended, but I didn’t have time to report it till the week after the warranty period. This time it’s a proper failure as we can’t use it without knocking all our sockets out! Amazon were useless and said ‘on your bike, nothing happening here’; Vektra by total contrast were responsive and have replaced the kettle, even though originally bought from Amazon. Thank you Vektra!

Good kettle but does have some flaws 1st you have ...
Good kettle but does have some flaws 1st you have limited capacity about 4 decent cups 2 there is a button which lets the water out could be better positioned Takes 4 mins approximately from cold to boil On the heavy side On the plus side uses under half the power of our old kettle approximately 1.3 kW instead of 3kw Once it's boiled you can't boil the kettle until it goes cold enough saving more energy so know one can re boil the kettle Stays warm for quite some time so the water if re boiled takes no time at all No steam at all so no kids getting scalded and kettle was knocked over when hot and full but didn't leak very impressed great if you have kids like me In all a good buy at the discount price fast delivery well thought out product far more positives than negatives worth the money

It works but it has issues
It works but it has issues. The main problem is that the capping of the handle moves a small amount when you hold it and this traps the power button. The result is that the kettle sometimes does not switch off when boiling - it correctly cuts out but then restarts and it continues to do this until you intervene. UPDATE - after using the kettle for a number of weeks. Thermally, it works well and retains the heat. The handle cover moves around and the whole handle feels flimsy. The on/off switch can get jammed by the handle cover. Given the problems wih the switch, and the kettle's inability to detect that it is boiling when using smaller quantities of water, it is necessary to always manually switch it off

Good Idea But Flawed Design
Others have mentioned issues with the lid and I agree with them. I also found the rate of pouring water from the kettle slow. My big gripe is the angle at which the kettle has to be held to pour. It's so steep that my hand ends up in the rising steam from the spout. It's going back and will be replace by an ordinary kettle plus an air pot, which will achieve the same energy saving.

Hot drinks 'on tap' & plastic free!
I didn't think you could get excited about a kettle but this one is great! Had it 2 days, so review so far ..... Its not a rapid boil, but then it doesn't need to be. It really does keep the water hot enough to make tea / coffee for a good few hours (I've not timed it properly) so as soon as I fancy a cup I can make one instantly. Its perfect for me as I tend to put the kettle on, go back to the laptop and do some work then forget I was making a hot drink and have to start the cycle again, but no more, as soon as I remember I was making a coffee the kettle is still hot enough and for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th....(I drink too much coffee) cup there's no waiting for the kettle to boil. All the interior is stainless steel (except the underside of the lid) and no plastic water gauge. When the water is poured it does go through a plastic spout but that is the only time the water is in contact with plastic. I saw another review mention a slow pour, but I've not found that to be the case. I was concerned I may not be able to pour and press the release lever as I've only got small hands but actually its not a problem at all. Unexpected plus side - I've not noticed any steam escape the kettle during the boil so it doesn't matter where I sit the kettle (eg: under wall cupboards) as condensation no longer an issue. Minor downside - the kettle is a little on the heavy side when empty, which isn't a problem for me but may be for others. I was worried when I first got it out of the box but after using it the weight is fine. If I have any problems I'll update the review but so far I'm really happy.

Keeps the water hot without a horrible taste
We bought one of these 1.2l Kettles five years ago, and it's served us very well. Not only does it keep the water hot for a long time, but even when it's had time to cool, it doesn't pick up the stale taste we've had from other (plastic) kettles. In the last couple of months our original unit was starting to click off a little early, resulting in cuppas that needed a bit of extra microwaving once the milk had been added. Descaling, with a bit of mechanical intervention around the thermostat probe in the bottom did help, but after 5 years we decided to just get a new one. Minor cons are: The lack of a water indicator was a bit of a pain. You get used to the feel of an empty jug but there's still a bit of guesswork involved. Once it was a few months old, as the kettle cooled and he air pressure inside dropped, you'd hear a bit of noise as air seeped in, but nothing intrusive.

Ok so it’s expensive for the quality but is it worth it for the Eco
Had really high hopes for this, love the idea insulated kettle to keep the water warm after it’s boiled. Quality let’s it down a bit Couple of issues - The lid comes fully off by rotating using the pour lever, not an issue yet but can see it being an issue in future if someone forces it. - The writing that tells you which way to rotate the lid is already wearing off - The button to heat the water doesn’t feel very premium - There is no alert to tell you the kettle has boiled - The kettle makes a noise once it has boiled when it releases pressure, seems to bleed this off gradually. - You do have to tip it up quite far whilst depressing the handle to pour it although you can get round this by removing the top That said is it all worth it for the benefits, it works for me as it’s easy and convenient but actually it may be more eco to boil and decant into a sealed flask. Can’t say yet if I’d buy another one see how it holds up
