It is 4"AM and I've changed my review, after contacting Amzon, I asked questions to which I recieved no answers prior to this purchase, I can't find this anyplace on the net.No directions and no info as to how to contact the manufacturer "AMAZON, TOLD ME TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTEROR OF THE PRODUCT OR READ THE NON-EXISTANT MANUAL: REALLY AMAZON?WOULD YOU PUT YOUR CHILD ON A LEAKING SLIMLY PLACE TO SLEEP?This arrived with a cardboard around it that simply reads what the description does. ALSO, THERE IS NO ZIPPERED CASE AROUND IT, "AS IT READS TO WASH IT"I have no clue how much water to soak this in and for how long.It just reads' to reactivate re-soak it and allow to reactivate for 30 mins laying on a flat surface ONLY HALF HAS DRIED THE OTHER IS SOAKING WET AND SLIMEY.I WOKE AT 3 AM TO FIND MY DOG WET AND SLIMEY, I PLACED HIM IN THE TUB AND SHAMPOOED HIM, I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S IN THOSE CRYSTALS.The top has a soft lit fabric feel and the bottom appears to have a WATER RESISTANT feel. WEHERE IS THE ZIPPERED COVER, I PURCHASED TWO AND NO COVERS.AMAZON WANTS ME TO RETURN THIS DEFFECTIVE ITEM, MIND YOU WET IT WEIGHS ABOUT 25 LBS OR KEEP IT EVEN THOUGH IT'S DEFFECTIVE AND MAY HARM MY DOG AT 40% OFF. ARE THEY SERIOUS?Come on people if you have one leave a review.so others can make an informed purchase.:)JUNE.26,14Amazon has shipped me a replacement "right thing to do" I do hope it arrives with instruction and a cover.I'll update my review after I recieve and use the replacement if it has a manual, I don't want to oversoak it.I know the product is made in CHINA which is fine with me, I use many Hurtta products for my pet's and although they are designed in FINDLAND they are made in CHINA.

It took my dog a little while to grow less suspicious of the bed and start trying it, but once he got used to it he really liked it. It's been quite hot where he likes to sleep, and this bed stays cool for a long time after being activated. When it's really hot, I take ice cubes and place them on top - they melt into the bed, and the bed is that much cooler. It takes a LONG time to dry out again, and it's a little heavy when it's activated, but it does what it says it does and my dog loves it.

I love things like this. I had a cooling head band before and this is the same. My doggy loves it. He's alaskan malamute. So he needs to stay cool and this helps. You have to soak it again every other day for continuous cooling. If you have carpet I don't suggest putting it on it. Even though it says water proof bottom, it still seeps through.

Slightly thinner than expected but good wuality

Not worth the money and you have to wet it for it to be cool! Not user friendly

I got no instructions. I have no idea how to use this.
