This container is super convenient. I own a FoodSaver vacuum sealer, but keep it stored in my pantry. The Vacucraft container allows me to quickly access then re-seal food that we use throughout the week. Since I make my own juices and smoothies, I use it a lot for fruit. Strawberries, blackberries and raspberries stay fresh for days. I own several pieces of Vacucraft including the juice storage containers. I haven't experienced the loss of the vacuum seal that others have mentioned. This container is very sturdy and feels like it should last. I will say that the side clips are bit flimsy and for me are only good to hold the lid on when not storing food. The price has almost doubled since I bought it on Amazon 2 months ago. I'm not sure I would have purchased it at the current price.

As long as you don't put the lids in the dishwasher, these work great. I've noticed the same thing with sports drink bottles - the seals go bad. You might be able to get away with it if you took off the seal, but I'm not taking any more chances. I ruined several before I figured this out. The clear containers wash beautifully in the dishwasher, tho, and I use them for batches of soup I make ahead so I'm sure I'll eat a healthy lunch. The vegetables retain their color longer, so I think it's working.

This is my pride and joy. I abhor green onions. I hate the texture and flavor of them. I don't particularly like eating anything green, much to my doctor's and colon's chagrin. But with this? This spectacular marvelous innovation? (It just keeps your green onions lasting longer) I got a bunch of green onions and put that s*** on EVERYTHING.

I would love to love these as the idea is great, simple to do, look well made and I like the color. But alas the 16% one stars are the sad story :-( I gave two stars because two of mine worked perfectly but three others didn't hold the vacuum = two stars.

Great vacuum seal storage containers

I've used the round set and the rectangular set for many years and they have never failed to hold vacuum. To check this I placed a "Tempo Disc 4 in 1 Bluetooth Wireless Thermometer, Hygrometer, Barometric Pressure and Dew Point Sensor Beacon and Data Logger" inside the medium round Vacucraft and pumped it down to 1/2 atmosphere (447 millibars or 6.5 psi). The Tempo Disc logged the pressure inside for an entire week. After 7 days the pressure inside was 473 millibars or 6.8 psi. Still under 1/2 an atmosphere. It only let in 26 millibars or 5.8 % leak. By the way, that little rubber indicator that sucks down to show you that you have a seal, it inverts at 13 psi, you have to keep pumping until it stops removing air; only then it will get down to 1/2 an atmosphere.

We have several of these containers and use them for almost everything we want to keep fresh. Recently bought this new batch to increase our fleet only to have the lid of the larger container completely fall apart and smash through while doing the standard vacuum pump action. Ruined an entire block of freshly grated cheese since we couldn't be sure we got all the little shards and pieces.

Seal doesn't always work

Keeps berries fresh for up to 2 weeks. I have been using this product for a few years now and love them. I recommend this product to anyone who makes smoothies.
