works for me
the cheap headphones you get in the package deals from the big detector store turned me against headphones. They are hot and hurt my ears. My mentor told me I needed to use and get used to using headphones to save money on batteries and hear the the deep treasure. He as usual was right. I figured the cheapness was the problem so I splurged. Glad I did. The padding on these babies is so comfortable. I will be sweating and not even be bothered by it. My ears are dry and comfortable the whole time. Plus it helps me concentrate on the audio clues and not rely exclusively on the visual display. Biggest plus -- $$$. Headphones save battery life saves you money. My money was well spent. Good looking, good functioning.

Glad I went with these!
A bit pricey but excellent performance and features. I appreciate having a volume control for each ear and the fact the coil cord is replaceable (it comes with 2). They cover the entire ear and block out outside noises nicely. This is good in noisy and crowded places, not so good if you hunt near rattlesnakes! They are comfortable to wear but like any over-ear phone, can cause sweating in hot/humid conditions- which is tolerable. They fold down to a compact size for packing and made from high impact plastic. I read where a guy backed over a pair with his car and was able to put them back together (must not have ran over the volume pots). Not good for listening to music, then phones made for music are not good for MDing. My guess is that the better quality phones (as these are) cater to a niche market (MDing) and have a higher price point.

well worth the cost
Great headphones. Well worth the cost. I'm using them on a fisher f19.

For the metal detectorist !
I bought this as a gift. He loves them! He said that they are so much better than the pair that came with his Minelab metal detector. Better quality sound, fit, cord ...would definitely recommend :)

All NDT Grey Ghost Headphones Should Have 2 Cords
The headphones work fine. NDT stands for "No Down Time" because all Grey Ghost NDT headphones come from the factory with 2 sets of cords. When one breaks in the middle of nowhere you can plug the second cord in and keep detecting. That is the whole point- the redundancy. These only came with one cord, which is very disappointing.

Glad I bought these
Comfortable enough to wear all day detecting, picks up the faintest repeatable signals...more so than the stock headphones that came with my detector. And I like the option to remove the cord when I store them away at the end of the day.

No Good for the Garrett AT Pro
These headphones were disappointing for me. I used them with the Garrett AT Pro. They were super flat sound with hardly any differentiation between tones. The phones that came with my detector that cost $35 are what I am competing them to and the cheap ones have very dynamic sounds you can hear very subtle differences and volumes with the cheap ones. With the gray ghost they sounded like the Garrett underwater headphones. I did a lot of research and no one just putIt out there like this for the AT Pro. I hope this helps people looking for good headphones. I have not tried the killer bees. I will be looking into those next.

Gray Ghost Ndt Metal Detector Headphones
These Gray Ghost Ndt Detector Headphones are superior to any other headphones that I have owned and I have owned many over the years. They are in my opinion, the best quality headphones on the market.
