squish and perfect patty every time
This thing performs its intended function very well. I put patty paper on the bottom, plastic wrap on top, squish and perfect patty every time.I weigh the portions before pressing so I don't know how it would respond to putting 12 ounces of meat when the thickness is set for an 8 ounce patty. The lock on the thickness control works great and the thing is reasonably easy to clean. Though getting the locking ring and top knob back on are a bit tricky due to the flat for the increments. It seems to be sturdy enough to use quite a bit of pressure so I can make patties that don't fall apart on the grill.

I like the Burger Daddy
I like the Burger Daddy. It makes preparing hamburger patties a breeze. I will point out that this is not a precision product. The threads on the set ring and on the main shaft are so loose, that in many places the teeth simply don't engage. The result is that the round plate inside the shell can give under the pressure of the meat and create patties with thinner sides toward the hinge. Using smaller, dedicated butcher patty paper helped, as well as making storing/freezing easier.

The only reason I won't give 5 stars is the base is not heavy enough, meaning, that when you have the top half open, and resting all the way back, it tips over as the top half is heavier then the bottom. Product works well otherwise, and I would not let the weight issue discourage you from buying this product. I also want to say, I was NOT paid for this review, and did buy this with my own money!!

This item is not quite what I expected though I'll admit that I didn't know what to expect. The top portion is adjustable which is good, but it leaves gaps between the press plate and the edges of the housing. This causes meat to squeeze between the plate and housing which causes a mess and makes it a little more difficult to get a clean press. I am not a professional burger maker, so there is probably a better resolution, but I was able to overcome the fault by placing waxed paper under and over the meat before pressing it. I gave it a "Okay" rating for this reason. Other than that, it's a good item.

Burger Press
Today, six patties were pressed as expected using clear wrap to keep the press clean. Losing one star due to the fact that the locking nut was not threaded in the center of the nut. I expected that to happened due to the low price and made in China. My next mission is to find a recipe to prevent the burger from grilling into a mini burger or to locate a press with a larger diameter.

Suggest you include a small quantity of wax paper with the product. The paper provides an easier way to remove the meat. Also, by using the paper clean up is a snap with a damp sponge.Design is superb. I trust the TWO HOLES are for mounting to an object.Any suggestions as to what type and are there any instructions?Roger

Handy, well-designed device
We've had one of these for years and just ordered another to give to our daughter now that she has a family. It's the only way to go when grilling a large number of burgers. Quicker prep and the size uniformity helps greatly in even grilling time. We've never used the papers though that might be nice for stacking them. The device has always released easily and cleanly. There is a similar model with a spring release and we strongly prefer this brand with no spring.

Works Great!!!!
It works well and adjusts ok up and down, It is light weight like pot metal probably should be mounted to a table or larger board but still work well without. It had quite a few metal spurs all over it which were very sharp when touched. My husband had to file them down before we could use it. We used the patty papers we bought separate when making the burgers so they would not stick to the press which I highly recommend to do.
