Really Effective!
It's crazy but it really works (looks like my Contour grew a goatee) but I tested the camera before and after on my motorcycle and it really cut out a major amount of wind noise! I was even able to contact the company immediately after I submitted the order to order the color of my choice. I would recommend this for anyone using a contour especially as the mic is right out front.

It's like a hipster upgrade that doesn't embarrass me.
I'm not sure where these angry posts are coming from but I got my wind goatee thing in just about 5 days total and I used it on a snowmobile ride this afternoon! Let me break it down from the beginning on my impressions and quality:First was the packaging - it comes in an unassuming grey baggy/envelope and the product comes between two pieces of thick card stock and a thank you letter. The instructions are written on one of the card stock papers and it basically tells you to take the adhesive off and stick it on the mic hole on the front of the Contour. If you can't figure this out you shouldn't be using a camera outside, let alone leave your house at all.The hipster goatee thing, to me, is worth 20 bucks because I'm not crafty enough to figure out how the heck to make one of these things. It has a small adhesive ring at the bottom and black fuzz on top like a scalped troll doll. I put it on quickly and painlessly, the little plastic strip that protects the adhesive ring was hard for my man hands to pry apart so my wife did the dirty work on that.Performance! Based on the comparison of what it sounded like before, this thing is worth 30 bucks. On a snowmobile in Idaho or attached to my helmet, the windcutter removed most, if not all wind noise at 30mph and lower. This was VERY impressive. Once you hit the gas the wind will begin to cut in and I'd say at about 60mph you're going to get about 50-60% of the wind noise back which is still decent.Overall I give it a 5 because I felt like the price was fair, the shipper sent it before I expected, and the performance was equal, and at slower speeds better, than I expected.

Soul patch wind sock
I drive at high performance driving schools. Mounted on the roll cage, the camera is in the wind that enters through the windows - that's all you hear without the WindCutter. Once I mounted the WindCutter the noise dropped significantly. The only negative is that in my application the wind can whip the fiber strands up and across the lower part of the lens, showing on the video. I'll just trim them a bit to eliminate that problem.

Three Stars
Not near as effective as the adds make it sound.

Doesn't work.
1) You could probably rig something together for the same effect. Go to Michaels. They have tons of fur/craft items.2) We purchased this item and it shipped quickly; so its deserving of a star for that reason. However, it does not cut down on wind noise what-so-ever. This was used primarly for a track day; at all speeds you can hear the wind cutting through the mic. We compared the sound quality of this track day to that of another track day with NO WindCutter and there was NO difference. What a shame.

Two Stars
Too much noise!

I guess it works. Haven't had the chance to try it.
The fuzzy part came unglued from the little oring that fits over the mic before I even got to try it out. I suppose it will blow off in the wind unless I superglue it
