Netting serves the purpose.
I purchased the Easy Gardener 28' x 28' BirdBlock to keep birds out of my blueberries. You receive only netting, just what I wanted. It was wide enough to go across the ten foot wide T-frame I built and down eight feet on each side, leaving enough excess to pin to the ground. It catches on every leaf, every stem, every berry so care must be taken in suspending the netting to keep it off the plants themselves. I had three helpers assist me in raising the netting with poles by the corners, then moved it into place over the frame. With just a little planning and frame construction, the netting has performed well. I put it in place after pollenation, a week or so before ripe berries. I expect to get several years of use from it as it looks identical to similar netting I've used for five years.

Works, but a hassle to install
Bird net works OK, but it's still messy to try and throw over a fruit tree with "sticky" pointed branches for the net to go over. It takes two people and a long stick to try to install it correctly. In my case, my daughter was not paying attention while mowing the lawn and managed to suck a loose end of the net into the lawnmower. Needless to say, it ripped up a corner of the net and didn't do the lawnmower any good either. Still, the net kept birds away from some of my most prized Fuyu persimmon fruits I've been nurturing all summer long.

Size does matter!
This isn't the toughest netting available; best to take it down in the winter to avoid snow load and wind damage. That said, it is tough enough to hold securing staples or nylon keepers and to keep birds out while allowing insects in to pollinate. We really appreciated the size (28x28) which prevented having to splice netting (did this once in the past and it is a PAIN!). Overall a quality product for the price and sized to get the job done while avoiding splices.

It’s a marriage saver!
Husband tried to go cheap and bought a different brand. After an hour of arguing and not being able to get the net over the bushes we threw it out and bought this. It came in and in less than 10 minutes we had 5 bushes covered and protected. Not a single rolled eyeball was had. We’ve used in the past, this seems to be same material and I expect it will last for multiple years, like the last one. Just roll it up at the end of the season and store for the next year.

Has Holes
I bought a couple of different sizes of netting to cover several of my chicken yards. Didn't need super strength -- just enough to discourage hawks flying overhead looking for easy pickings. Unfortunately, as we were unfolding them, I noticed slits here and there -- some small; others 12" or so. All of the sizes had slits -- some only a few -- others quite a lot. Because I didn't have time to return them (and I doubted replacements would have been any better), I simply used neon-colored surveyors tape to close them up (which also helped emphasize to the hawks that there was a netting they'd have to deal with - I was going to do this anyway.) Worked out okay for me because of how we were using them. Same brand as what the nurseries in town carry (although they charge a much higher price) -- but then again, they don't have any holes. So I'm assuming these particular ones at this cheap price may be rejected seconds. On a positive note, even though they are very lightweight, they've lasted for a year now -- through snow, ice and high UV levels of sunlight (we live in high altitude NM), which is why I'm giving them 2 stars.

Great for birds
Great for keeping birds off. The net is getting pooped on but the birds cannot get to the vegetables. Does not help for rats.
