Just a Trim" Cordless Hair Trimmer Look "Sharp" in Between Hair Cuts

This is perfect to use to keep my hair short when I cannot get to the barber shop. My hair is trimmed comfortably now and I am pleased. Except... I could not get the case opened to insert the batteries! What a frustrating experience. I wondered if I was doing anything wrong. I finally got the cap off of the end using a pair of pliers but that wasn't the end. There were still two 'clamps' that preented my access to the battery case. Finally, I got in! Inserted the batteries and I did not replace the cap. Not yet. Next, I wanted to try the trimmer on my hair. Which of the plastic guides is for short hair? I took a guess. Then while attempting to remove the guide the blade nipped at my thumb! An adhesive bandage and some Bactine took care of that. I'm very satisfied with the trimmer and the price was a bargain for this well made trimmer. I can use it without the end cap in place but when I take the guard off, the trimmer slips out of the enclosure. What I plan to do is either remove one of the three 'springy plastic' holders or possibly cut the side ones to a shorter length... or put some WD40 on them to make it easier to access. I don't want to go through this situation again. I do like the trimmer. It is perfect! Four stars because of the difficulty inserting the batteries. OK, I'm happy now. I shortened all three of the 'springy' plastic holders by cutting them with a wire cutter eliminating the 'lumps'. The trimmer can now be extended or batteries changed without a hassle now. Now I see that when one desires to extend the trimmer, 'pulling' on the handle lengthens the trimmer.

The Just a Trim hair cutter is quite handy and really cuts hair effortlessly. It is great for a touch-up when you don't have time to get to the barber. The only drawback is the selection of cutter guides that gauge the length you want your hair. I have very thin hair and am old-school in that I keep my hair reasonably short and the cutter guides provided seem to be on either side of the length I desire my hair, i.e. they either don't permit cutting enough hair or you cut it too short. However, the vibrating razor blade cutter is quite precise and cuts even thin hair very well without grabbing or pulling that you get from conventional hair clippers plus the Just a Trim is versatile enough for fairly controlled self-trimming. Actually, this is the second Just a Trim I have owned. The blade retaining clip on the first one came loose and I could never get it to clip together securely even though removing the retaining piece is standard procedure as Just a Trim blades theoretically can be replaced by an owner. An overall good product for its intended purpose but with several shortcomings mentioned above.

This doggone thing works, if you are careful and don't get into a rush It will give you a very nice trim. If you are careless or a klutz it will take a chunk out of your hair and leave a large nick. Mine came with a loose triming guide slide, which slides out of place when using. always my luck...if a product has an anomoly it is this one that I will receive. Can't sell this one short though, it works just be heedful of its potential to nick when using it. Hope yours has a nice tight trimming adjustment slide.

I had this same item before and it stopped working after 2 years, so I decided I wanted the same exact one. After ordering and receiving this trimmer, I put in new batteries and it dies within a minute of using it, I figured the batteries were no good, well I went thru 3 sets of different type battieries and they all did the same thing. For some reason the device is immediately draining the batteries within minutes. I wouldn't purchase another one due to this defect

Bought this model in 1995 in NYC After 24 years it wore out. I looked around but did not find anything like this one. So went to Amazon put in the information from old one and guess what I got the same one. The new one works just as good as the old broken one. And the price was even better than I paid before. As for the Trimmer it comes with several inter changeable Heads, The Heads go on and off easily, Trimmer cuts great. Buy it if you like to Trim your own Hair

It runs but so far hasn't done me much good. I find the attachments do not allow the clippers to get close enough to my hair to actually cut much. The fairly long design of the clipper head without the attachments doesn't allow for very easy or accurate trimming around my ears which is where I most need and want to keep my hair trimmed.

the item shipped to me was not nearly as convenient to actually use.The handle (metal sleeve) should extend (slide out in a telescoping fashion), making the trimmer handle like a hairbrush. It does extend, but will fall off because the 'stop' does not function! Mind you, the sleeve should extend out (beyond the 'stop') in order to change the batteries.IMO, the current version just doesn't match the older version in any positive, user friendly, way.

I don't know what others think, but this is my 2nd one. The first lasted 6+ years! This 2nd one seems as good as the first.

You cannot use it going the reverse it is painful on the scalp. It doesn't cut well, too.

Just opened to trim my hair. Put in 2 triple A batter. Not working, loose clip in box.

Awkward to use

I have had one of these before and worked well but this one was liked the blade was dull and couldn’t even use to thin my hair, it pulled the hair out, so ended up throwing it in the garbage

I have had two other trimmers of this make over the last ten years so I am well aware of it’s use and capabilities. This latest version is similar to the others except it does not lock in the extende position which is distracting and detracts from it’s potential use.
