Ocean's Trilogy (Ocean's Eleven / Ocean's Twelve / Ocean's Thirteen)

Big improvement over the DVD’s.
I’m leaving the movie reviews to Rotten Tomoatoes where it belongs. This is about the Blu Ray set. Remember that none of these three films were shot in high sedition so their conversions to Blu Ray HD are limited. With that said, I compared the picture and sound quality of these Blu Ray discs to my current DVD set and there is a difference and it’s for the better. The picture quality is sharper and the colours stand out in Blu Ray. The 5.2 sound is excellent. Great purchase.

Only one movie works, literally.
I bought this trilogy because it was cheaper than buying just Ocean's Eleven on DVD. It turns out, it's a good thing I only wanted the first movie because that's the only one that worked. The other two movies in this box set wouldn't play at all. I bought this used, but it came in a nice collector's box, with the cases in good condition. The discs looked nice and clean, too, but when I put Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen in multiple players they would give me an error and not play correctly. I don't know if these are official recordings or burned discs, but they are worthless either way. I don't think I'll be buying from "Calma Media" again.

Not as described
Not as descibed by seller. Buyer beware. Also, Amazon flagged my original review because it might make someone sad ☹️

I love these movies
I love these movies. The quality is good enough for me. The only reason i gave this box set 2 stars is because it is censored. It did not state that it was censored in the description that I saw, but I didn't look for it either. ( only reason it did not get 1 star ) That is my bad. I really didn't think these movies need censorship. I mean implied violence, theft, lying, and criminal activity are all in these movies. A few swear word must be censored. Well I am going to give these to my 8 year old nephew just because it states that it is for ages 12 and up. I am going to buy the real box set.

Oceans of Fun
I'd never seen the two sequels before purchasing this trilogy, but the $15 price for the set was to good to resist. "Ocean's 11" is wonderful, of course -- a witty and clever and exciting crime caper. "Ocean's 12" caught me a bit off-guard. It has a more convoluted plot -- more artsy than the other two films, perhaps because it's set in Europe -- and took a good 45-minute to get moving, for me. Still, I enjoyed it and suspect I'll enjoy it more the second time around. "Ocean's 13" is perhaps the equal of "Ocean's 11". It's complex -- but not convoluted -- and lots of fun. $15 for all three films -- on blu-ray! -- is really a bargain. The quality of the blu-ray picture itself isn't anything special. It's fine and all that, but the films have sort of an orange cast to them and a soft focus -- no doubt the director's intention. It's not that they look bad, but just that they don't have the clarity of some blu-rays, like "Lawrence of Arabia", "The Adventures of Robin Hood", or "The Untouchables". The sound is fine, but generally lacks any exciting surround sound panning -- these films aren't "Top Gun" after all. All in all, a worthy purchase and a good deal.

2 stars on quality NOT on movies
3 stars is for $ ONLY. I got mine for $18 on Amazon. IF this was the usual $30-$50, I would give it 1 star because of the quality of the transfer.(For me) The first is my fav. The second it seemed like they tried way too hard to make it confusing, and it didn't seem to really climax. It was also plagued by over-performed acting. The third I think they brought it back down to normalcy. It neither had the complexity of the first nor the confusion of the second. It was done straight. You never asked how they did it. A bit of a snoozer though.I forgot how disappointing the second and third movies were. I am a huge fan of Soderbergh though and for $15 you can't complain!Hidefdigest was right. The first movie looks pretty good while the second 2 are awful. The picture never pops and the second 2 have so much grain it is ridiculous. The last two movies look like dvd's. It is like they literally took the video_ts files and put them on a blank dvd.As for the audio, Dolby Digital 5.1 is all you get. I kept cycling through my receiver and the BR menu looking for the TrueHD/DTS ma option. Really? Even Frosty the snowman on BR has True HD. What's the deal?If the first movie is pretty cheap on BR I would suggest picking it up and keeping your other 2 movies on DVD. But, like I said before, $15 is not exactly breaking the bank either.

Poor picture quality, Not a 3 DVD boxed set
Although this is one of my favorite set of movies, it was so disappointing to watch the poor recording quality as other reviewers have stated. Wish I would have read the reviews first. This set is not a 3 DVD boxed set like the picture, it is a single blu ray case with a 2-disk insert that is not secured. As for picture quality it is definitely not the expected crisp HD blu-ray quality you might be hoping for, but instead choppy transitions, few lags, and a lot of picture "noise". Very very disappointing and in some cases it actually is somewhat dizzying, similar to the effect of watching a 3D movie without the 3D glasses, but to a lesser degree. I would recommend buying the regular DVD version as this is absolutely NOT worth it.

Bad Bluray release
Great movies but avoid this Bluray release of them. There are newer releases that hopefully don't have the issues that these discs do. The pop-up menus are broken on all 3 discs and there's no subtitles on the 3rd movie. If you don't need any subtitles and don't care about special features, then these will play the movie.

OCEAN'S 11/12/13 - Box Set DVDs
No complaints about the DVD quality of all 3 films. Good transfers, sound and optional English subtitles. I did find the films themselves to be a bit trying. They seemed like big Ego trips (just like the Sinatra film was, only that was worse, in my humble...). Excellent cast seem to struggle a bit and almost be themselves instead of the characters they are supposed to play. Plenty to like though. Elliott Gould/Carl Reiner/Julia Roberts, and expecially Ellen Barkin in "13", she, for me, made that incomprehensible film worth watching. An excellent price. Well worth it if you like the stars (and the films). Recomended, but for me, only 3 stars.

A fun addition to the Oceans heist movies
No real surprises and it's not going to win awards but it's an enjoyable, fun heist flick in the style of the earlier Ocean's movies. Loved the little cameos (reminding me a bit of Kingsman in that respect); the support characters were a bit predictable and (despite reasonable screentime) one-dimensional - all computer hackers in movies are the same person syndrome for one example. The movie itself had a few nice little twists... you knew twists would be there (in this type of heist movie somehow, somewhere they always are) but I certainly didn't spot hardly any of them coming and they were good nonetheless... I'll be happy to add this to my Ocean's collection and do a marathon watch of them all

Excellent
Ocean 11 is very good, 12 os below par with 1 3 arguably the best, oceans 8 a womans enterprise i struggled a bit not because of its all all female cast, but because i couldnt grasp the plot, and i didnt quite no some of the cast, yes i know bullock whose great but was that really kate Blanchland, i couldnt recognise her from lord of the rings and hobbit great film but lost over the plot

Good films, good value box set
I only wanted to buy Oceans Eleven, but at the time of purchase this box set was £10 and the first film on its own was £6. Given the small difference, I opted to get the set. I'm glad I did because we ended up watching all three films and quite enjoyed them. The first film is definitely the best. Contrary to popular opinion, I found the second more enjoyable than the third, but neither sequel is fantastic. The plots of each film increase in their ridiculousness, with each one seeming more far fetched than the last. None of the three are films which push the boundaries of film making, but they are still enjoyable entertainment and easy watching for a lazy Sunday afternoon or film night between friends. The item wasn't exactly as pictured - it was a single-thickness Bluray box (the same size that a single disc would come in) with all three discs inside it, slipped into a cardboard sleeve. Personally I prefer individual Bluray cases for each disc, but that's just me being odd and I can live with it given the price.

Good price if you like the films, but the box image is misleading.
If you like the Ocean's films then this is a good buy, all three films for under £10. While it's not the best quality transfer I've seen on blu-ry it is still better than on DVD.It should be pointed out that the image for the collection is probably from the original release. In the latest version of the collection all three disks are in a single amaray box so it takes up much less space than having each disk in its own box.
