I have no calligraphy experience but managed quite well in my own fashion. The pens are clearly identified as to thickness etc and I'm happy with the results.

They are what they are. Great pens. We bought them to write our wedding table name places out just for that personalised touch and these made my handwriting look great

sorry no breakdown of technical details. Just saw these pens are on a time-limited deal and wanted to say I bought them again. I love writing anyhow. And I do love the particular pens that I love, and part of this is that writing is a big deal for me - shopping lists and all: as if, If I take care over things, they matter. And _choosing_ a particular pen to write with is part of the ceremony (and not the procrastination!) of writing, for me.The whole act seems quite effortless, and as the minutes of first writing with them flew past, I became more and more comfortable with them. I'm not sure I know how the ink on the paper looks quite so effortlessly elegant - I did not put more effort into writing with them than with any other pen that I choose. But the effect of the strokes of ink on the paper is beautiful. I'm sorry that I can't get more technical about the whys and wherefores of how the pen figures in this experience. But figure it does!

These pens are good value for the money however I would not necessarily advertise them as being calligraphic pens because to me, they felt more like sharpies. I had a hard time using the thicker ones because it came out looking like a thick marker, no matter how much I stabilized my hand. I tried a few more times thinking that I just need to get used to them, however still same result. I cannot fault the thinner tip pens, they seem to be really good.

I used one of these for writing on Christmas labels and was delighted with them initially, but the pen I'd chosen soon lost its precision and the end softened to make for a less clear outline. Still a good set - and excellent for the price.
