This journal has rocked my world from the very first day I ready it. Especially in our American culture, we fool ourselves into thinking we know what sacrifice, devotion, loving God, evangelism, and discipleship are.But when you hear from missionaries who are daily giving it all to follow the call God has given them, you realize how selfish, spiteful, comfortable, arrogant, and impudent our western mindset really is.And then, each day you have the opportunity to pray for a specific people group that is virtually unreached in East Africa. You learn a bit about them, how to pray, & even get useful ways to remember them in everyday life.I'm grateful that this isn't just a book of letters, but that you have a place to write your own thoughts and responses to what you read each day. This is where, through some thoughtfulness & prayer, you can journal out what that days reading has meant to you as well as what you feel God calling you to do in application of the principles you've read.We ordered these books for our missions trip team consisting of youth and young adults who are going to El Salvador this summer. Every one of them has said how much this book has challenged them & we're extremely grateful for the chance to go through it personally as well as together.I highly recommend this book whether you're preparing for a missions trip, full-time or lay ministry, or simply want to grow deeper in the way you live out your Christian faith. Buy this book, eat it up, & allow it to change the way you think & live.

Very good for fleshing out any barriers that my hinder the process of growing closer in your relationship with God. This book took me through an amazing 30-day journey with God and helped me identify areas of strength and weakness in my faith. I used it in combination with fasting over lunch. I would highly recommend this journal for everyone, regardless of whether or not you are considering missions. Keep in mind that this is a JOURNAL, there is space to write at the end of each day and you will find that what you write will be very personal. So, this is not a book to "share" with others, each person needs their own copy.

This book really seeks to make the reader understand the importance of being selfless and to truly know how to lay one's life for others.

This is an inspiring and encouraging collection that will change your life! Read articles from many dedicated workers in the harvest about the challenges and rewards of praying for and even going to serve among those who do not yet know the beautiful deliverance and multitude of blessings that are available to all who choose Jesus and become children of the Most High God.

This journal captures the essence of the Christian life. Living dead to self and alive in Christ is practiced with the help of this amazing journal. Being aware of others around the world and next to us is the heart of God. What a refreshing reintroduction to a devotional life I have always wanted. This book does a great job of leading into a devotional life to God. What a great book!!!

Excellent book. Will challenge you to go above and beyond in your walk with Jesus. I definitely suggest this book for those who want more than just a "nominal" Christian walk.

I seriously can't put down this book. It's not only aesthetically pleasing, but the content itself is so insightful and an easy read. What I love about it is that it gives a lot of practical suggestions on challenging ourselves and very real to its readers. We are only suppose to read two pages per day for the challenge is its definitely doable. I want to quote so many things from there. It is definitely worth a read. I'm not even done yet and I already feel like it has drawn me closer to God, helped me pray more and understand scripture in new perspective. I definitely recommend it.

I can highly recommend this book/ journal. It brings an awareness to the needs of the world and people in it. It delivers the truth of people groups to your front door, many of which I would have never had a thought or concern for.
