Cumaru (Dipteryx odorata) a dense Hardwood from NORTHERN SOUTH AMERICA is sometimes referred to as Brazilian Teak as well; primarily when used as hardwood flooring. It has a fine texture and grain, with a medium to dark brown color, sometimes having a reddish to purple hue. Cumaru is also called by the name Tonka Bean, and the tree is commonly cultivated for its vanilla-cinnamon scented seed, the tonka bean which contains a chemical compound called coumarin. Cumaru lumber is extremely stiff, strong, and hard. Janka Hardness Rating: 3540 Cumaru Mongo Muddler's come in one size, 1-3/8" diameter by 11” long. (This is my favorite size.) Many Mongo Muddler's are in stock. If so they will be shipped immediately. If at the time of your order it is out of stock it will be custom made to order and shipped with five days.
