I recently discovered this novel while reading through old Hulk comics, and it was a great find indeed. Peter David has been one of the best writers for the Green Goliath, and in this book he proves he's not only good at writing comics, but prose as well. His style is terse, fluent, and the pacing is great. The story is set in the "Professor" period of the Hulk, and develops on a different continuity, never touched again in the series. As a matter of fact, Mr. David writes a story that Marvel didn't allow him to use in the comic book, perhaps for the controversial content. Anyway, fans are sure to like what it contains.Furthermore, the book contains illustrations by George Perez, the artist for fan-favorite Hulk graphic novels Future Imperfect and The End.It's too bad that David never wrote another Hulk novel, but the quality of this book led me to try out his other works, like the enjoyable "Sir Apropos of Nothing".Bottom line: buy it, while you can still find a copy.

Great if you read Hulk in the early 90s!
As someone who read David's Hulk as it was coming out it took 20 years to get hold of this! Now a lot of the last 40-odd issues have more context!Lovely line illustrations by George Perez compliment each chapter and David writes prose as well as he does a comic script. Difficult to imagine anyone who hasn't read at least Future Imperfect getting much out of it though... Even if David does find a way to deal with Betty's editorially-mandated miscarriage.
