Sleep Number AirFit Adjustable Pillow with CoolFit Foam

Didn't Know the pillow was molded for your neck. Smelled bad at first and took awhile to get the smell out. Haven't had it long but seem to be better than other pillows that would go flat in a hurry.

I love this pillow! I have now had it for an entire year (that in and of itself amazes me)! My Aunt got it for me last (2011) Christmas. By this time I would have gone through so many pillows because I don't like them to fully and high, but I don't like them so flat that I have to put my arm underneath it either. This pillow prevents both of those problems from ever happening. Like reviewer R. Jenkins I leave the value open to allow the pillow to quietly inflate/deflate as I move about. It does this well. The valve and the hole/flap in the pillow cover are of good quality and I do not foresee any issues with this part. I sleep on my side and stomach and it works well for both positions. It is a bit heavier than a normal pillow but this does not impact the use experience at all. It comes with a pillow cover which I keep on beneath my usual pillow case; the cover has successfully made it through the washing machine countless times. When I first got the pillow it had an odd smell (as a note in the box indicated it might) owing to the internal material. I just left it out of the cover and on a stand so air could circulate through it and within 2 weeks all smell had gone. Give your pillow a chance before you would take it back for this or any other reason - I am certainly glad I did. (My Aunt bought this at the Sleep Number store; not here online.)

This pillow appeared to have several quality attributes suggesting restful slumber, as well as assisting in alignment. It appeared to be a great gift, for a split second. However, not only was it astoundingly unpleasant it was rife with complications regarding any potential return. Customer service was, at best showering us with shallow ingratiating statements of understanding with the common default "... our return policy is clearly stated." To their defense it is stated. However, my loose interpretation of this "return policy" if it can be called that, is: You chose to purchased our product which, there is high likelihood you will not enjoy. We will not give you your money back, although if you complain enough we will give you the opportunity to purchase some of our other grossly overpriced products.My advice, if you read any of what I wrote: sleep the night at the store and actually ask yourself when you wake up if you remain content?

I got this pillow for Mother's day. What a wonderful surprise from my non-gifting husband. I love the pillow. I leave the valve open so that it adjusts all through the night. I am a side sleeper and will wake up sometimes on my back. I do not know how it would do for stomach sleepers. I have neck problems and it is so hard to find a pillow that will support my neck correctly. This pillow does and also the "Therapeutica Pillow" they are the only pillows I can use because of my neck problems.He bought it from the sleep number store and they had coupons and a sale going on so it was a little cheaper than here.We also have the sleep number bed (10 years) and love it!Update 7/19/13:I have to say that I do not use this pillow anymore but my daughter does and she loves it. I needed a more supportive pillow for my neck. I went back to my Therapeutica pillow. It is so hard to know what pillow will work for each person. You need to know your sleeping habits (side, stomach, or back sleeper), and what is comfortable in a pillow for you. This pillow did not have a good neck support for me. I did like how it was adjustable.I changed it to 3 stars from 5. It may be a great pillow for the right person.

I do not recommend the non air pillows. My husband and I both had gotten one and liked them at first, but after 6 months we had to get a replacement outer shell because they were so flat. It has been a year since we did that and our pillows are so flat you feel like you don't even have a pillow under your head. I tried to get a new outer shell and they said it has been to long since we purchased the pillows that they can not do anything. I am very frustrated and upset. We spent over $400.00 and they don't even last more than a year. Better off to keep buying a new pillow for 20 or 30 dollars. My advice is don't spend anything on these pillows.

This pillow is adjustable to your liking with a air chamber compartment and adjustable knob, you can open or close the knob to adjust your level of comfort. I sleep on my side and stomach and sometimes get a stiff neck, so I adjust it to soft when I'm really sleepy and I adjust it to firmer when I read a book. Great pillow.

My wife purchased two of these. After the second day our bedroom smelled like something was molding in there. once i tracked down the scent i knew it was the pillows. the manufacturer claims I should air them out for two days b4 use. at $189 msp per pillow, shouldn't they air them out b4 they are shipped? They also have a no return policy. I certainly know why. You would send them back if you could. Kinda like having a dead rat below your bed.
