Works as expected
Works great. I bought a cheaper turkey baster, but it ended up smelling really chemically, so I threw it out and bought this. For those complaining that it does not suck up water, the baster has to be under water to work (Like most suction with water products usually do) and if your tank is too small for that, please move your poor fish to an appropriate sized home (5+ gallons). Anyway, this thing is easy to clean and works great for cleaning up messy corners between water changes or feeding picky fish.

Great
Amazing! I have been using this for a while and I love it. It has changed how much food is on the bottom of the take by a lot. Recommend completely.

Helpful, but leaks at top.
This little device is pretty helpful with "spot cleaning" waste from aquarium. The only complaint is that when I suck up dirty water and turn this device sideways, it'll leak water from where the rubber part meets the plastic.UPDATE:I've had this device for a few months and it falls apart every time I use it, and the dirty water leaks everywhere from where the bulb attaches to the siphon. Not worth the money.

Great for calm aquariums
This does not make the surface clean. -1 starThis easily removes any waste accumulated except on the surface, so if your betta is like mine and makes a pile of poop, this removes all but just a little where the pile is attached to the aquarium or bowl. +2 starsPrice. +2 starsOriginality and convenience over conventional methods. +2 starsNote: This is great for settled waste not free flowing waste. If your aquarium has a current and sweeps waste from the bottom and does not allow waste to settle, this is not the product for you.Note 2: My aquarium does not have gravel, so I cannot say whether this works well or not with aquarium gravel.

Not super powerful, but it will do
Well, I don't have a fish tank anymore. The reason I bought this is that I needed to clean sediment out of my tabletop ice maker, and nothing else was working.Believe me, I tried to get a turkey baster first. Did you know this appears to be a very seasonal item? Three stores - not one baster in sight. I needed to get the ice maker up and running again, so forked over 5x the cost of a turkey baster for this little guy. It actually does what I needed it to do quite well. The skinnier tube for the fishies did a great job of getting down into the ice maker reservoir. I didn't care much for the price, but at least it is nice looking and did the job.For those who say it isn't working for you - you DO know you need to squeeze the bulb and hold that BEFORE putting it in the water, right? Seems like a lot of the one-star reviews are over a lack of understanding on how to work it. Squeeze tight, put tube in water, release bulb squeeze to suck stuff up.It took probably eight times for me, because it doesn't suck up very much at one time, but it still got the sandy-looking sediment out of the reservoir so we could fire the machine back up.

Doesn't spit like a Turkey Baster! Works Great!
For those of you who are familiar with turkey Baster and how they tend to spit out liquid, this is not the case with this product! 5 stars all the way because it can grab debris from the gravel, quickly remove water from the tank without having to disturb fish as much, easy to clean (mo dishwasher so that's a plus in my book!) It's a simple concept that's been around forever and does what is designed to do.

Could be Better
This gravel cleaner is basically a turkey baster. It does a decent job of cleaning the gravel, but the gravel gets inside the tube, which is a pain. We have a 2.5 gallon divided betta tank by Aqueon. The cleaner doesn't quite reach to the corners under the filter very easily. I have to lift the filter a little bit and squeeze under. I think if I had to buy again, I'd look for something else - something a little longer that cleans without sucking up gravel. I have a good gravel cleaner for my 10 gallon tank. I need a better one for the betta tank. Still, I give it credit for working. 3 1/2 stars.

Whoever thought of this product is a genius. It is so simple yet so effective. I have a 3.5 gallon fish tank and 1 fish in it ( I have no idea what kind) and use this to do partial water changes once or twice a weak. It takes about an hour to take out half of the water but worth it. especially because it is so gentle that it doesn't disturb the fish too much- my fish even plays with it (he circles it and gives it kisses) while I am cleaning his tank so it's kind of like our bonding time. it's also pretty relaxing, like tending to a garden. Great product!
