What sort of sheath does it come with, if any?

Cheap chinese made sheath. Garbage.

Are these knives Made in USA? The Amazon description says they are.

Any mention of a "made in the USA" description has been removed, and now "Origin" has been listed as "China." Unless a seller can correct me here, it would appear that they have moved the production of this knife to China, as the parent company, Fiskers, has done with many of the Gerber knives.EDIT: I sent Amazon a message on the origin confusion, and as of July, 2017, they changed the origin to "USA."

While admittedly super cool looking, what is a good use for this knife?

This is designed as a combat knife. For those of us who don't have to face actual combat, the Mark II is still great at other knife tasks. Great for camping and military training, for example. To be honest, the most common task I use it for is cracking coconuts. I've been using mine for 30-odd years for that and other things, and the Gerber barely shows any wear and tear. Another 30-odd years and I'll pass it on to my son or grandson. :)

Is the tang the full length of the handle? Does it have a proper tang as one with the blade, or is it one of those cheap pieces of crap?

what's a "proper tang"? i'm just curious because i have full tang rat tang and partial tang knives and all of these are recognized tangs. if you're asking if the blade is gonna snap if you baton logs with it, absolutely it will but then hatchets are made for cutting wood and i would bet any knife maker will void a warranty even lifetime when you send them a snapped in half knife with a letter complaining about how it only got halfway through the piece of wood you were forcing it through with another piece of wood
