Best receiver ever!!
This receiver replaced my 16 years old Yamaha receiver and I could not believe that it could make so much difference in sound quality. My entire family was blown away with its immersive sound quality, Hall of Munich is best setting for having deep immersive experience. One little annoyance in my view is the way volume goes up and down, you press button 2-3 times and instead of following your key press as steps to increase the volume by, it jumps volume by several digits, it will probably take some getting used to. I also wish the backscreen on panel could have better contrast - when you increase the brightness, it brightens the entire panel screen instead of text. But overall, its a very high quality, well built receiver. Love it!Thank you Amazon for fast shipping!

Solid 2 Zone Receiver / Amplifier - Excellent video and Audio
I purchased this Yamaha to replace the 10YO previous version that no longer decoded SiriusXM. This new clean front panel design and much improved remote control are easy to use once installed. I have to say the only complexity I have run into is connecting 3 smart devices together - NVIDIA Shield PRO Streaming Box, RX V6A Receiver and LG OLED TV via HDMI chain from Streaming to Receiver to TV with no audio or video passing through the TV first. The only issues that result is getting all 3 to play nicely when switching on and off via a single (NVIDIA) remote control. It is nothing short of fantastic to be able to have such a simple remote control all three devices for the most common functions. Only specialty settings require a specific remote. However it becomes an issue of chicken or egg - as control messages to go on or off are carried by HDMI and the power sequence becomes complex - with options to turn on or off IF ... THEN... for all 3!Otherwise the receiver has been a dream to finally restore sound to several rooms in our home from SIriusXM and now several other sources as well, I'm thrilled with the features, new MusiCast control and ease of operation once installed and properly paired for single remote operation. I plan to have this around another 10 years and enjoye the excellent 4K video upscaled by the NVIDIA device and handled beautifully by the receiver to drive the TV in rich color and great 5 Channel Sound.

The best amplifier Ive had since my 1985 Yamaha R-7.
The Yamaha rx-v6a, tsr-700, and yes, the rx-a2a, are all pretty much the same AVR, on the same firmware channel. Same power, same dacs, same dac implementation, same output stages, same construction, they’re the same. The a2a has a 5th foot, and 2 ten thousand micro farad capacitors in the power supply, while the v6a and tsr-700 have 2 eighty-one hundred micro farad capacitors in the power supply, and only 4 feet. These 2 tiny differences make no difference in sound quality or reliability, whatsoever. All three are simply awesome. From the DACS to the amps, and everything in between, these Yamahas sound better and out perform all the others. The HDMI boards have all been updated, and the firmware is mature. To even match these in sound quality and reliability and longevity, you would have to spend many thousands of dollars. Of the rx-v6a, the tsr-700, and the rx-a2a, which ever one is on sale for the least, get that one, because they’re the same device. In this case, that’s a good thing because you’ll love them.

RX-V6A 7.2-Channel AV Receiver ++++!
Lets start with shipment, all was ok, the only delay was having to be in person to sign for the package. UPS missed me twice, left a return date note and on next business day, was able to sign for unit delivery. Everything was new in box, all items stated were included. Now comes the setup, well, having only an "easy" setup flyer (no user guide), one would think it would be easy -- uh no. I would of rated my overall experience a 5 start, yet, had to find and download the User manual only after hours of trying to determine what was causing audio "stutter" with local TV or streaming app. Contacted Yahama Tech Support by chat, was told by chat support, a tech would contact me within 24 to 48 hours. I did ask the online chat support to expedite and within 2 hours, a tech support call came. Within 15 minutes, the patient Tech support guy systematically helped to troubleshoot the issue. I had a separate local antenna tuner with HDMI connected to HDMI port of TV and the AV unit HDMI (eArc) out cable connected to Vizio 55E1 (eArc, HDMI 1) port at the same time. Tech asked for me to switch local tuner cable from TV to HDMI port 1 of AV unit. Retested audio - no stutter. Thank you Yamaha Tech support. Some would say it is obvious to connect a separate TV tuner to HDMI port of AV unit, not so obvious without a solid User guide. The AV unit remote is ok, the only criticism is the left/top/right/down buttons used to navigate through the onscreen menu is sub-par (not wide enough), often when trying to scroll the setup menu, the large middle round select button is pressed since the width of the menu selector keys is too thin. At least double the width selector keys is suggested to Yahama. The overall sound quality, performance and power is great. I recommend this unit for those who want a GREAT AV unit for the price point and excellent Tech support. I have JBL Studio2 and Klipsch (front/center/subwoofer) - AMAZING!!

So much easier than other receivers I have owned
What a joy to have my family over for an open house and play music inside and outside. The power delivery is enough to reach a volume that would blow the windows out(I’ve never tried it full blast afraid for my windows and eardrums). I sure enjoy the Bluetooth connectivity. From my iPhone I turn the receiver on and play my Amazon playlist with ease unlike my Denon receiver that I always had to fight with connecting via Bluetooth. For the price and my usage it is a great receiver.
