So the filters worked great. The price is decent compared to big-box stores. I purchased the 6-pack of MERV 12's. They get shipped in a really thick-carboard box, very sturdy so they don't get crushed in shipping I presume. I was using MERV 10 filters in a different brand, and swapped to Nordic Pure in a MERV 12. Measurements worked out to be 19 9/16 x 19 9/16 x 29/32. My old filters we basically the same. They slide in fine (under mount to HVAC unit) and don't rattle as some folks have complained. The material is slightly heavier (and hence the whole filter feels slightly heavier) than my previous one. I counted the pleats, there are 27 (the MERV 10 had 21 pleats). My HVAC unit is only 4 years old, and did not struggle or have flow-restrictions when put into place. I presume the higher MERV is working, as my dust level in the house is a bit lighter than it was previously. As for those folks that complain about the size, if you look up size standards, this is the standard size. I looked up Filtrete filters, since other reviewers seem to think those are bigger, and found those to be 19.69 x 19.69 x 0.81. No difference. As for stating that this will break your air flow, I would suggest it is time to replace your unit (that on a reviewer who bought a lowly 8 MERV). Finally, saying that these don't work as well because they are not dark grey after 45 days of use makes no sense. These are not full of holes or anything (that would be obvious). I'm not sure where that came from... So yes, I would recommend these filters. They work as they are supposed-to. No complaints here.

I use four of these types of filters to build a Corsi-Rosenthal box air filter every summer, along with a box fan. They are especially useful during fire season. Works great. Exact size and thickness I needed and exact merv filtration number I wanted, at a very reasonable price.

These were well reviewed on the New York Times. Purchased for my parent’s home since they will not use the 3M Smart Filters I use (“What’s an app? On my phone?”) These appear to be working fine and filtering well at a fair price.

Full Disclosure: I actually returned this product, no fault of Amazon or the product. I inevertently purchased the incorrect size filter during my shopping comparison. This review is based on the exchanged product that is identical to this product aside from filter dimensions. These filters have been working great in our air return, they have a nice filtration size to cut down on dander, dog hair, and other air contamination in a home, without being overly restrictive. 1" filters are inherently restrictive, so using cheap and very low filtration is recommended to prevent excessive pressure drop across the medium which will stress your heating/cooling coils in your air handler. This micro pleated filter helps to increase the filters surface area and prevents this excessive pressure drop, with more filter area to pass air through, while providing better filtration quality. We have had no freezing or restrictive airflow concerns in our unit since installation, and will be using these filters going forward in our home.

I’ve been extremely interested in maintaining the air quality in my home ever since I bought an air quality meter. The one metric I couldn’t seem to get under control was the VOC’s. I used the exact same Nordic Pure filters with the same MERV rating as these previously. When I switched to these with the charcoal filter included I watched my VOC’s drop by 50% in 24 hours. Very impressed! Small improvement in overall air smell in the home as well. Highly recommend!

These Filters don't suck, they suck about 3 times as bad as a 3M Filtrete filter in my tests making a Corsi-Rosenthal box fan air purifier. The only filter to use in a furnace or Air purifier is a 3M Filtrete. When everyone want to run a good filter but they say you can't do it because your furnace can't handle it, that's because all filters but 3M are garbage and only have about a third the folds of a 3M Filtrete fitler. That's 3 times last surface area for air to pass through. Makes me wonder why they even bother to make filters with 3 times less surface area, these Nordic Pure and all the other ones with a third the folds are not worth anything to anyone. Do yourself a favor, get a high flow 3M Filtrete filter and you'll get a better filter for way less money. If you multiply the other filters price by 3 times for the 3 times less folds of filter material they are cheating you out of, then you are getting a way better value and price with 3M
